Hittisleigh is a small, rural hamlet set in mid Devon, located a couple of miles north of the A30 between Exeter and Okehampton. The hamlet is home to the Parish Church of St Andrews, built in the early medieval time with many later historic features such as reputedly the oldest church bells in Devon. Three miles away lies the hamlet of Whiddon Down, home to a fine pub, whilst further afield is the market town of Okehampton, where visitors can explore the ruins of Okehampton Castle, a prominent landmark and testament to the town’s medieval past, or explore several galleries and workshops that celebrate the creativity of local artists. The spectacular Dartmoor National Park is easily accessible and boasts a myriad of walking and hiking trails, spanning through unspoiled countryside and local wildlife.

Peaceful location with amazing uninterrupted views. The lodge is top notch with absolutely everything needed for a great stay and perfectly placed to explore the area. We hope to return and would not hesitate to recommend Binneford Lodges. Many thanks to Gary and Gemma for being great hosts.

The lodge is situated in a very scenic and tranquil area, from almost every window you have fabulous views over the valley and countryside. It is both cosy and spacious. You will find the lodge fitted out to a very high standard with everything you need. The beds are exceptionally comfortable and bathrooms modern and very clean as is the everywhere in the property. It is evident much thought went into the design and provision. The linen is beautifully clean and cosy. The log burner for chilly nights with all logs provided. You can sit out on the patio or enjoy the hot tub, again enjoying the views and tranquility. There are walks locally for those who wish to get in to the countryside and the coast is within easy reach. The owners are very helpful and genuinely make sure you enjoy your stay. It ticked all the boxes for us, we have had a lovely week and feel rested and relaxed. There is a large supermarket and for those with electric cars there are fast charges in Crediton, a short drive from the lodge.
