There’s a large TV for film nights, or you can just relax and chat with your friends over drinks. Head through an archway for the kitchen, which has everything you’ll need for preparing picnics or cooking up feasts, plus a coffee machine for a tasty morning treat. The ground floor is completed by a downstairs WC. You’ll see a family bathroom with a large waterfall shower on the first floor, and two king-size bedrooms. Bampton is a lovely spot with a few pubs and shops around for anything you might need. You’ll be 6 miles from Exmoor, famous for its stunning views and incredible wildlife. Alternatively, head to Quantock Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (21.5 miles) and visit the National Trust Fyne Court (22 miles), which has an arboretum, a walled garden and a cafe for a nice slice of cake. There’s also the National Trust Knightshayes Court (6.5 miles), with more than 250 acres of parkland to explore. Finish your holiday with a day trip to Exeter, 20.5 miles.
