Guests generally enjoyed their stay at 3 The Drive, Hillfield, praising its spaciousness, well-equipped nature, and suitability for large groups. The property's location is appreciated for its quietness and proximity to Dartmouth, though a car is necessary. Some guests noted issues with maintenance and cleanliness, but staff responsiveness to problems was highlighted positively.
Reviews on cleanliness are mixed, with several guests finding the property clean and well-presented, while others noted dirty floors, cobwebs, and outdoor furniture needing attention. The property seems to require more consistent cleaning standards.
The location is generally well-received for its quietness and proximity to Dartmouth and local amenities, though it is noted that a car is essential due to the property being somewhat remote and the presence of narrow country roads.
Comfort is rated highly for space and furnishings, but some guests experienced issues with temperature control and problematic smoke alarms, which affected their comfort levels.
Facilities are appreciated when available, but there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as non-working blinds and the need for painting. Ongoing building work and the lack of promised amenities like a pool and playground have impacted this score.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Two points; the bi-fold door (kitchen end) is difficult to lock and took considerable fiddling to get it to lock on each occasion, and the smoke alarm in the kitchen is in a very poor position if you want to use the cookers at all (this has been mentioned before). Both of these can be addressed and shouldn't detract from my initial very positive recommendation.

Had everything we wanted. Think a small overflow fridge in utility would be worthwhile. Only negative was the smoke alarms. No matter how hard we tried any use of either oven (light cooking) set off the smoke alarms. Never known anything like it. Might not sound much but we have a 22 month old and was terrified whenever it went off. No matter what we tried couldn't prevent it activating.... even went off with an empty oven but when we took a baking tray out. Only complaint we have.

The house was immaculately clean, spacious and well equipped with all you could possibly need for an enjoyable holiday. We were lucky to have such good weather and benefitted from taking an earlier break than usual with less crowds in the towns and beaches. Situated about 2 miles from Dartmouth, there's a handy park and ride for those taking a break in the high season. Dartmouth itself is handily placed south of the Dart estuary, close to Salcombe and Bigbury Bay, but with links across the river to the Torbay area. The one suggestion I could make about the house would be the addition of an overspill fridge in the utility room. We were only 7 in a house for 10, but struggled slightly with the amount of shelf space available. It's just a small point and no way spoiled our holiday.
