Guests say

Guests have praised the cottage for its charming character, comfortable furnishings, and stunning views over the river Dart. The well-stocked kitchen and homely touches contribute to a delightful stay. The outdoor terrace is a highlight for enjoying meals with a view. However, access is challenging due to steep steps, and cleanliness was a concern for one guest.

The cottage received mixed feedback on cleanliness. While not a recurring theme, one guest mentioned cobwebs and clutter, suggesting room for improvement. However, no other reviews raised cleanliness issues, indicating this may not be a widespread problem.

The location is highly praised for its spectacular views and proximity to local amenities and attractions, including pubs and a village shop. The ferry to Dartmouth adds convenience. The steps to the property, while challenging for some, are clearly communicated and part of the property's character.

Guests have found the beds very comfortable and the overall atmosphere of the cottage to be homely and welcoming. The presence of a well-stocked kitchen and thoughtful setup contributes to a comfortable stay.

The cottage is well-equipped with a comfortable bed, well-stocked kitchen, and a pleasant outdoor seating area. However, there is a mention of clutter and a lack of clarity on parking facilities, suggesting some areas could be better maintained or described.

While guests have appreciated the general setup and homely feel of the cottage, there are no specific mentions of gifts or special touches that would fall under the category of thoughtfulness. Therefore, this score cannot be provided.

It felt really homely, was well stocked with kitchen accessories and thought had gone into the general set up. The views over the harbour are fabulous both during the day and at night so breakfast and dinner should be eaten al fresco whenever possible. The only reason I gave 9 out of 10 for if I’d recommend it is the steps up to the property which really aren’t that bad but could put off some people. We highly suggest having some cocktails at the 1620 Bar in Dartmouth as they seemed to make the steps a breeze to climb! We will definitely be back Julian & Clair

The steps up from the road could be a bit challenging but not a surprise at all as they are in the description. Lovely views from living room and main bedroom. There is a village shop very close by which is very well stocked. Previous reviews from some time back described getting a permit for the marina car park but it seemed we needed to pay for the car park in the normal way at the machine or on Ringo - it would be helpful if this was described in the cottage instructions. All in all though we really enjoyed our stay, with lots to do nearby, and easy ferry crossing to Dartmouth and beyond.

Really comfortable bed and well stocked kitchen. The views are amazing from the front terrace and windows. Great seating area for outdoor food and drinks. A couple of nice pubs in Kingswear and of course the steam train. No problem getting the ferry over to Dartmouth, car ferry was quicker generally. Only thing to note is that the cottage is absolutely not suitable if you would struggle to climb up the 70+ steep steps up to the cottage.
