Guests say

Amberley is a well-equipped, clean, and comfortable holiday home in Dartmouth with a beautiful garden and convenient on-site parking. Guests appreciate the property's quiet location, stunning views, and the added bonus of seeing steam trains from the house. While the steep walk from town is noted, it is also seen as a good way to keep fit, with alternative transport options available for those less mobile.

The majority of guests found Amberley to be clean and well-presented. A few mentioned specific issues such as stains on the carpet and a dirty entrance mat, but these appear to be isolated incidents rather than a general trend.

The location is praised for its views and proximity to Dartmouth, though the steep walk back from town is a consistent point of consideration. The quiet residential area and the ability to see steam trains add charm to the location's appeal.

Guests generally find the beds comfortable and the house spacious. However, some guests mentioned that the sofas and single beds were uncomfortable, suggesting room for improvement in this area.

The house is described as well-equipped with a variety of amenities and a lovely garden. Some guests suggested improvements such as better shower pressure and a gate for easier access to the bus stop. Maintenance issues like a blocked toilet were also noted.

While some guests mentioned the lack of a welcome pack and the fridge being turned off upon arrival, there are not enough references to gifts or additional thoughtful touches to accurately score this category. It is important to note that while such amenities can enhance the experience, they are not guaranteed.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the stunning Start Bay coastline, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many popular events such as the annual Dart Music Festival, Dartmouth Food Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta. This historic town boasts interesting landmarks, such as Dartmouth Castle, the Britannia Royal Naval College, and the National Trust’s Greenway House just a short ferry ride away. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through the rolling countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat or ferry trip across to Kingswear, on to Brixham, or down the river to the village of Dittisham. For those seeking sandy beaches, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular beaches just a stone's throw from Dartmouth.

It's a great family space, good garden and all important parking! Walking up and down to town is a pretty walk and keeps you fit.

Well.equipped kitchen and utility room. Comfortable beds. 2 supermarkets 1 mile away. If their are drawbacks it's two big hills if your walking to Dartmouth or more to the point when walking back. Maximum.var parking in Dartmouth is 4 hours. Possible other drawbacks are either que for ferry or drive 40 munits to get to neighbouring paignton, torquay and brixham. Having said that Dartmouth is s pretty sea side town with plenty of boat trips etc and Blackpool sands is a nice privately run beach but you have to choose your route carefully if you want to avoid the narrow country lanes.

The house is fully equipped, with a beautiful garden to enjoy. Amberley is situated on the outskirts of town (approx 15 mins walk away), and affords views down to the river, and where a steam train can be spied on its way to and from Paignton. Please note the walk to and from town is very steep in places and not for the faint hearted! Dartmouth is an ideal base to explore south Devon, with much to see and do.
