Quay Cottage is a lovely, pet friendly cottage on ‘The Quay’ in the picturesque village of Dittisham with stunning uninterrupted views across the River Dart. Just a short 15-minute drive away or 20-30 minute river cruise is the historic naval town of Dartmouth with its award-winning restaurants, individual boutique shops and delightful waterfront. Within 100 yards of the cottage is The Ferry Boat Inn (one of two pubs in the village, in addition to a shop/post office) and the widely acclaimed Anchorstone Cafe serving locally-sourced fish and seafood in a stunning riverside location. Agatha Christie's former home 'Greenway' (now owned by the National Trust) is a short ferry 'hop' across from ‘The Quay’.

The cottage is accessed from ‘The Quay’ via a covered porch and stable door which leads directly into the sitting room. Two steps lead up into the kitchen. This cosy living area has low ceilings, original supporting beams and stunning views.The room is comfortably furnished with a corner sofa, a chaise lounge, coffee table, and sideboard with TV and a feature Wood Burner. A doorway and two steps lead into the dining room with a pine table and six chairs. Two steps lead up into the kitchen which is well equipped with a range of appliances including a four-ring hob, integrated electric oven, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, and fridge/freezer. A door leads out to the rear terrace and garden area. An open staircase ascends from kitchen to the first-floor bedrooms.

There are three bedrooms in total. The en suite master bedroom is situated at the rear of the property and is a light and airy room with a vaulted ceiling, and French doors leading out to the rear terrace. The room is furnished with a King-size bed, two bedside cabinets with wall lights over, a chest of drawers with sidelight and flatscreen TV, built-in wardrobes with hanging space, a bedside armchair, and a stool. The en suite shower room has a shower cubicle, w.c., bidet, and wash hand basin. Bedroom two has superb river views and a double bed. Bedroom three again has superb river views and is furnished with fixed triple bunk beds (the top bunk is 7’ from the floor and is not suitable for young children). There is also a family bathroom fitted with a panelled bath with hand-held shower attachment, w.c., and a wash hand basin.

To the rear of the cottage, accessed either from the master bedroom or a flight of external steps from the kitchen, is an enclosed cobbled terrace with bistro table and chairs. A further flight of steps leads up to the decked terrace with table and chairs and a chimnea. This area has good river views over the quayside cottages rooftops.

Nestled in a tranquil location on the edge of the River Dart, the waterside village of Dittisham is just a 10 minute drive (or 30 minute river cruise via the small passenger ferry) from the historic naval town of Dartmouth, where visitors can enjoy boutique shops and galleries, award-winning restaurants and the picturesque waterfront. The peaceful waterside village of Dittisham boasts two pubs, including the Ferry Boat Inn, plus the popular Anchorstone Café, serving freshly caught seafood. In addition to this there is a convenient shop/post office. Greenway House, the former holiday home of Agatha Christie now owned by the National Trust, is a short ferry side away from Dittisham quay. The Blue Flag awarded beach at Blackpool Sands and the stunning Start Bay coastline are just a 20 minute drive away.
