Guests say

3 Top View Cottages in Salcombe is praised for its spaciousness, modern kitchen, and cosy atmosphere. Its location is appreciated for proximity to town and scenic walks, despite the challenging hill. Guests enjoy the property's charm and find it a comfortable home from home, though some noted a need for maintenance and better furnishing to accommodate six people.

The property is generally described as clean and spotless upon arrival, with fresh towels and bedding. However, there were isolated mentions of a dog smell and an unflushed toilet, suggesting occasional oversights.

The location is well-regarded for its proximity to the town and harbour, with beautiful walks nearby. The steep walk and challenging parking are noted, but the scenic charm of Salcombe is a compensating factor.

Guests find the cottage cosy and the beds comfortable, but suggest that larger beds and more seating would enhance comfort. The water pressure issues also detract from the overall comfort.

The modern kitchen and provided amenities are appreciated, but guests report maintenance issues such as low water pressure, stiff key safes, and insufficient dining seating. Some facilities like the barbecue and Velux windows need attention.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

I stayed on my own and found the bed so comfortable and very peaceful location considering it’s just off a road. Walking up and down the hill is very hard work, however I’ve been coming to salcombe for many years so I knew this is what I signed up for so I’ve become very fit over the past week

Entry to it up a narrow slip road, with a VERY small car parking area, for reference. Steep steps up to the front door, with gravel part way up pathway which is slightly uneven underfoot. Door key safe needs to be replaced as very difficult to obtain key as it is very stiff & weathered. Cottage very clean & fresh. Plenty of kitchen equipment. Clean towels & bedding provided. Lounge nice, but only has sitting for 4 people, as does the kitchen table, with 4 chairs. Very steep steps up to the back garden sitting area, which could do with a little tidy up. Salcombe is a very lovely area to holiday in, but, also very hilly. This cottage is a good steep walk up from the main town & not a walk for the faint hearted or those who struggle to walk far with a heart problems. Water pressure very low upstairs.

House was spotless when we arrived. Salcombe really is paradise on earth. Went to a service at the parish church which was very friendly and all part of the Salcombe experience. The town is built on a hill which is its charm. It's a steep walk up from the harbour, though it doesn't take more than 10 minutes. Very scenic half hour walk to the nearest beach which is perfect for swimming. Lovely sheltered patio. Supplies of washing up liquid, loo roll etc were a bit mean. So pleased to have found this house and we would love to come back. Jenifer
