Picture perfect Appletree Cottage is a semi-detached, thatched cottage set within the Dartmoor National Park, nestled beneath Haytor in the very pretty and peaceful hamlet of Higher Brimley. From the rose filled cottage garden with its thatched summerhouse and apple trees, are outstanding far-reaching views towards Bovey Tracey and the Teign Valley. Inside, the cottage is filled with character and period features, including thick cob walls, original leaded windows, beamed ceilings and stone fireplaces housing two woodburning stoves. Perfect for a romantic getaway or a break with friends. Views over the garden from the window seats in the lounge are just lovely, and, in the very well equipped kitchen there is a large farmhouse table for enjoying meals together. Also on the ground floor is a cosy snug, and the bathroom and on the first floor are two comfortable double bedrooms, one of which has a king-size bed.
Nestled in the valley of the River Bovey is this stunning little town known as "The Gateway to the Moor". Bovey Tracey got its name from the meandering river that flows through it, with 'Tracey' representing the family that were the lords of the manor after the Norman Conquest. It has a great history with heavy involvement in the English Civil War which resulted in the name of the town's pub "The Cromwell Arms" which serves real ale and good food. The history of the town can be discovered in the Heritage Centre, with the Dartmoor National Park Authority also nearby. Bovey Tracey offers a selection of shops and cafés along with the stunning Mill Marsh Park and the Dartmoor Whisy Distillery which offers guided tours. The town comes just outside of the Dartmoor National Park which provides seemingly endless walking and cycling paths along with incredible scenery. The market town of Newton Abbott sits nearby, offering a fantastic day out with charming buildings and a good range of amenities. The beautiful city of Exeter is also within driving distance, and if a day at the seaside is what you're after then take a trip to Teignmouth.

The cottage is absolutely beautiful, all the furnishing are of the highest standard and very comfortable. We absolutely loved the garden and all its seating areas. We we very lucky with the weather and had most of our meals outside. We were sorry to leave such a wonderful cottage. We would definitely stay here again. Having all the information at hand including all the appliance instructions was most helpful. The owners (David and Hilary) contacted us to make sure we arrived okay and stayed in touch to make sure we had no problems. Thank you so much from Alan & Diane

The gardens are beautiful with several seating areas. The only issue we had was no toilet upstairs which was a nuisance as going down the stairs in middle of night when not fully awake was not the best.

David and Hilary, the owners, gave us a lovely âwelcome packâ and called to ensure we had all we needed to make our stay a pleasure. We would recommend the property to anyone. Thank you so much!
