Situated just a mile from the bustling square of the popular Dartmoor town of Chagford in Devon, is this Grade II listed cottage. Beautifully converted, Maple Cottage sits alongside just four other cottages crafted from traditional stone barns in a quiet private courtyard. Stylish and thoroughly well done, the interior space has been carefully designed using light and colour to create a wonderfully relaxing, contemporary retreat. After a day on the moor, there can be nothing nicer than to settle down in front of the crackling wood burning stove with a favourite film and a glass of something cool. On the first floor under the eaves are two tranquil bedrooms perfect for a peaceful night's sleep. At the front of the cottage is a terraced garden where you can sit out and enjoy a relaxed supper or morning coffee. With lovely countryside all around, this is a great area for exploring. Head along the winding lane into Chagford to explore the little shops followed by a pub lunch in a choice of excellent inns. In the summer months, you can take a dip in the town's famous fresh water lido. Dartmoor's vast open spaces are within easy reach; explore on foot, bike or car. Castle Drogo sitting high above the Teign Valley is a National Trust gem and well worth a visit. Further afield, the historic Cathedral town of Exeter and sandy beaches of the South Hams are within an easy drive. Maple Cottage is an idyllic place for enjoying stunning scenery and complete relaxation.

Beautifully furnished and decorated to a high standard and very homely. Within walking distance to a charming little village and can highly recommend the local pubs and eating places. The outdoor swimming pool in Chagford is a lovely little gem and well worth a visit. Whilst staying we visited Torquay, Brixham, Paignton, Exeter and Dartmouth which were all within a reasonable drive away, as well as the smaller surrounding villages close by. It was a lovely break away with as little or as much to do as you wanted. The roads approaching the cottage were very narrow and only one car width so something just to bear in mind, however we navigated these all week without any real issues as traffic was very light in and around the area. Beautiful cottage in a lovely location.

We felt at home immediately. If you live in a busy city and want a complete rest then this cottage is perfect. The owners very kindly left a fresh loaf, scones, cream and jam, milk. How very lovely. The beds are comfortable. 2 toiletsâ¦. Perfect for my husband who has less mobility. The one thing which I was a little concerned about ( typical towny), is the way up to the townâ¦.not good for the less mobile. For meâ¦Heaven!

Parking area can be tricky. Sitting out area is where you park. Entrance to parking area is tight so smaller cars are best.
