Surrounded by lovely countryside in the tiny Dartmoor hamlet of Wonson, alongside a small, friendly pub a lane-mile from Throwleigh is The Bolthole. This lovely converted barn has been laid out with great care, and is light and airy with lots of thoughtful, homely touches. The smart and spacious kitchen and dining area has everything you'll need to cater for the family, and leads to the living room with handsome original beams and a wood burning stove. Upstairs the two bedrooms have vaulted ceilings and pretty fabrics make them feel warm and inviting. At the back is a neat lawned garden and sitting out area with table, chairs and barbecue and to the front parking for one car. In nearby Chagford, a perennially popular, lively little town away from main roads in the shelter of high Dartmoor, there are pubs, shops and an outdoor swimming pool. Past it the River Teign hurries through woods and meadows below the imposing Castle Drogo (National Trust) on the hills above. Further afield the cathedral city of Exeter has plenty of amenities and a fascinating and historic past - spend the day shopping, dining or visit the picturesque quay. The cottage was comfortable, beautifully furnished and had everything we could need. Surrounding area is lovely and there is great walking and cycling straight from the doorstep. We are hoping to come again soon.

Very peaceful, clean, comfy beds and loved the private walled garden. Some of the prettiest cottages in Throwleigh and most speactacular scenery.all around the area. Particularly the ancient path road just above us the Throwleigh, and wild swimming in Shilley Pool. The cake was indeed delicious and along with other treats so generous and welcoming. Had many a fun evening in the pub garden opposite and sampled Simones delicious cooking, fish caught from their boat and lamb shanks. Most unusual pub (check out the weather cock) but so welcoming! Thankyou for a most memorable stay xxx
