Guests say

Guests have had a delightful stay at the Purbeck Hotel Apartments, praising its cleanliness, central location, and the owner's responsiveness. While some guests suggested improvements in seating comfort and provided amenities, the overall experience was positive, with the property's cleanliness and prime location being consistently highlighted.

The property has been consistently described as clean and well-maintained, with multiple reviews highlighting its immaculate condition. However, a mention of untidy common areas slightly impacts the score.

The central location next to the beach and in the middle of town has been highly appreciated by guests, making it an ideal spot for enjoying Swanage.

Guests found the property comfortable overall, but noted that the seating was insufficient for four adults and that the mattresses could be improved for a better sleep experience.

The property is equipped with good quality appliances and is well-decorated. However, guests suggested the need for additional instructions for appliances, better quality crockery, and the provision of cleaning materials.

There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches beyond the provision of basic amenities, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

The small, family-friendly seaside resort of Swanage is situated at the eastern end of Dorset’s famous Jurassic Coast, on the celebrated Isle of Purbeck and is probably best known for its wonderful, gently shelving golden sands. The little town offers visitors plenty of shops, good pubs and restaurants, some of which specialise in locally caught seafood, and is also well known for its annual jazz festival, which takes place each July. The attractive, Victorian wooden pier offers a great place for a stroll or try fishing, and often used a departure point for divers, it’s a wonderful place to watch the world pass by. The historic Swanage Railway has its terminus in the town and regular nostalgic steam engine trips take tourists for a picturesque 6-mile journey, chugging through lovely countryside to stop just beyond the romantic ruin of Corfe Castle. Nearby Durlston Country Park offers a lovely day out with spectacular coastal walks, dolphin spotting and wildlife watching, together with comfortable viewing points and a well-stocked cafe for a treat after all the fresh air. Take the short drive to Studland, which has one of the finest beaches in the country, surrounded by heathland, together with the regular chain ferry, which crosses the mouth of Poole Harbour to Sandbanks. This truly is a delightful holiday destination at any time of the year.

However, there are some areas for improvement in our opinion - It was disappointing that there was only a settee suitable for 3 adults available when it was a 4 adults booking , meaning one always had to sit uncomfortably on a dining chair. There is plenty of room for a further comfortable chair. The 2 single beds were uncomfortable with springs poking through and digging into your back when trying to sleep. The two headboards were not attached to the bed or the wall meaning they banged loudly every time you moved to try and get comfortable. The kitchen was well fitted with good quality appliances, however it was a pity that there were no instructions for using the cooker or hob or the hot water boiler. The crockery was clean but felt very cheap and nasty. Strangely the cutlery was of good quality. The bathroom was clean and well fitted, however there was a constant smell of cabbages / blocked drains unless the extractor and bathroom light were left on. This wasn’t pleasant . The accommodation was well decorated and clean , however, the ground floor entrance hall where the washing machine and tumble dryer were located were untidy with piles of dirty laundry dumped for the duration of our stay. It was disappointing that there were no cleaning materials ( wipes, cloths and kitchen towels) available along with a few more provisions over and above a few sachets of coffee / tea and some milk. Some small shampoo and shower provisions would have been useful too. Swanage was a lovely location and the flat was well located to take advantage of its position. It would have been helpful to have a comprehensive welcome pack with detailed information about the flat and what to do in the area - something other accommodation providers in Swanage provide to assist the visitor. Having said the above a great stay - thank you .

Parking ok up the hill. I would recommend investing in a corner sofa as tight squeeze for 4 on1 sofa
