This unique property, originally a grain silo, has been redesigned with comfort and style in mind, featuring a hand-built bespoke staircase, an oak porch, and a curved kitchen. Mr Cutts
We may be the first to review The Grain Silo as it’s fairly new, so hopefully many more reviews to come… we just had the most incredible 4 days staying in this haven of tranquility and it ticked every single box. We love this area of Dorset and try to find quirky places to stay. We initially looked for somewhere with a sea view, which this doesn’t quite have but it’s so near the coast anyway and the views were drop dead gorgeous, we made the right choice. The Silo itself is an architectural success and it’s amazing how light and airy it is inside and how much space there is!! The living area and kitchen really do work well and the bedroom is fantastic with the ceiling reaching up to the full height of the silo, a lovely domed feature. With the balcony door open, it’s a stunning place to be, just listening to nature and even more of that view…. Wow! The photos don’t do it justice, sat having a glass of something or reading a book, looking across a paddock with horses gently grazing in front of you, the field disappearing away to woodland below and the Dorset countryside reaching out far into the distance. At the top of the slope a stunning church and to the left farm outbuildings / equestrian centre that look just right with the trees sloping away up the hill behind. One of the most peaceful places we’ve visited and there’s an array of wildlife all around, from all the birds flitting about, housemartins flying right up to the balcony window, owls hooting as dusk falls and deer seemingly everywhere!! We would not hesitate to recommend / return. Andy and Shelley have clearly sunk a lot of time and effort into getting the conversion to the brilliant standard it is. They were close by if anything was needed but very relaxed and just left us to enjoy our stay. Thanks again for a wonderful break and keep up the good work, you’ve already achieved great things here and we hope more to come!!
