The Old Ambulance House in Somerset is highly praised for its cleanliness, comfortable furnishings, and thoughtful touches, including welcome gifts. Guests appreciate the spacious garden and the property's quiet, secluded location, ideal for wildlife watching. While some guests suggest minor improvements to seating and kitchen facilities, the overall experience is deemed exceptional, with many keen to return.
Guests consistently note the property's cleanliness, with multiple reviews mentioning it being 'spotlessly clean' and 'immaculately clean'. The fresh smell of bedding is also highlighted, indicating a high standard of cleanliness throughout.
The property's location is appreciated for its quietness and proximity to wildlife, with a secluded setting that is still close to local attractions. However, some guests noted the nearby road can be busy, and the local pub requires advance booking, suggesting the location is not without its challenges.
The comfort of The Old Ambulance House is well-regarded, with guests finding the beds comfortable and the property warm and inviting. However, comments about the lounge seating not accommodating all guests and suggestions for additional comfort improvements slightly affect the overall comfort score.
Facilities are generally praised, especially the well-equipped kitchen and spacious garden. Nonetheless, guests have suggested enhancements such as additional seating, larger fridge capacity, and more kitchen utensils, indicating room for improvement in the facilities and maintenance category.
The thoughtfulness of the hosts is frequently mentioned, with guests appreciating welcome gifts and the property's well-considered amenities. It is politely noted that while such gifts are a delightful touch, they are not guaranteed for every stay.

Sometimes, the pictures look better than the actual property but not in this case - the pictures donât do it justice. The house is stunning, the location is very central in terms of getting around Somerset for different activities and the price was incredible for what we got. Myself, husband, 2 friends and 2 pooches thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be coming back again. Thank you so much!

Accommodation was perfect with the 3 similar sized double bedrooms and good sized bathrooms. Kitchen was perfect and equipment and appliances great. Just one observation. The cleanliness was good but there were a lot of cobwebs high up around the ceilings, around the window reveals and along the skirtings. This suggested they werenât being cleaned away regularly or there were quite a few spiders. It seems it was the latter. We had a lot of spiders in the property, especially upstairs. Big ones!

The house has been newly refurbished and was very clean and nicely presented. The back garden is spacious and the view looks over fields. The kitchen was well-equipped and we appreciated our welcome goodies. Our only fault was that the beds were rather low, all double beds and a little uncomfortable (although presumably new mattresses, so no lumpy bits or springs etc). It would have been better to have some twin beds for families, we thought. The directions were very detailed and as good as they could have been, but it was still a little tricky to find. Perhaps better to arrive in the light in the winter! Overall, though, a very pleasant stay. Thank you to the owners.
