Whilst it was very clean and appeared satisfactorily maintained, we were disappointed with the lack of decent natural light in the late afternoons which required the early turning on of the electric lights. We would mention that the glass shower screen leaked water which puddled on the floor and appeared to be caused by a worn rubber seal. Unfortunately there were other issues that distracted from our enjoyment of the property. The wall mounted cupboards in the kitchen containing the crockery and glassware were so high up that a 5 foot grandmother could not reach them and even a 6 foot grandad struggled to safety take down any item that was not near the front of the cupboards. A small kitchen steps would have helped but we assume this was not provided for health and safety reasons. There was an induction hob in the kitchen, which we had never used before, and we were anxious to find no instructions had been left to explain how it was to be turned on etc. Similarly the television was connected to the WI-FI and we had no idea how to find any terrestrial channels. Again no instructions were left. Fortunately we were able to contact the owner who came over to the cottage and gave us a crash course in how to use the hob and the tv remote control. But this did cause some initial concerns.
