Guests say

Stables Cottage in Melksham, Wiltshire, is a well-received holiday rental praised for its peaceful and secluded farm setting, spaciousness, and welcoming touches. Guests enjoyed the local wildlife, countryside, and proximity to attractions. While most found the cottage comfortable and well-equipped, a few noted areas for improvement in maintenance and facilities.

The majority of guests found the cottage to be clean and well-presented, with fresh flowers and a welcoming atmosphere. However, a few guests mentioned issues such as dust in temporary wardrobes and grease splatters in the kitchen, slightly affecting the overall cleanliness perception.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, wildlife sightings, and proximity to local attractions and amenities. The rural setting offers a peaceful retreat with easy access to towns and historical sites, contributing to a high location score.

Guests frequently commented on the comfort of the cottage, noting its spaciousness and the quality of the beds and furnishings. The presence of a well-equipped kitchen and the peaceful environment added to the overall comfort. Some minor feedback on specific furniture items slightly reduces the score.

Facilities were generally found to be adequate, with a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable living spaces. However, some guests noted the need for better maintenance, such as fixing a dripping tap, updating kitchen blinds, and providing a vacuum cleaner. These comments suggest room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.

The thoughtfulness of the hosts is frequently mentioned, with guests appreciating welcome gifts such as wine, fruit, and biscuits. While these gestures are warmly received, it is politely noted that such gifts, though common, are not guaranteed with every stay.

The welcome gifts were a lovely touch. It was a lovely peaceful setting. Loved watching the ducks each day in the pond. We were also lucky with the weather.
