From the sitting room, French doors open out onto a private patio, a lovely place to unwind after your interesting day out. Take a short stroll down to the enchanting village pond, where ducks clamour to be fed! Buy some groceries in the friendly community store or enjoy refreshments at the popular village pub, which serves real ales and locally-sourced meals. Nearby, you can explore one of the well-marked byways which weave their way across the unspoilt countryside. Alternatively, enjoy the beautifully-restored Kennet and Avon Canal as it winds its way through the Vale of Pewsey towards Devizes, before it descends the magnificent Caen Hill flight of locks, one of the highest in the country. Within an easy drive from Urchfont, you can take in a visit to historic Stonehenge, the splendid cities of Bath and Salisbury, Bowood House and Lacock Abbey, as well as Longleat House and Safari Park.
