    Travelling by car to Stonehenge

    Just two hours away from London, driving to Stonehenge is as easy as can be. Simply take the M3 towards Southampton and then exit at Junction 8 and follow the A303 towards Salisbury/Andover for around 60 miles. Once you get nearer the site, there’ll be plenty of the signs for Stonehenge for you to follow.

    Travelling by train to Stonehenge

    If you’re travelling to Stonehenge by train, then you’ll find the nearest station in Salisbury, nine and a half miles away from the site. From here, you can take The Stonehenge Tour bus straight there.

    Andover

    Just a 20-minute drive away from Stonehenge, the pretty market town of Andover dates back to Saxon times. With a handful of museums in the local area and lovely quaint tearooms and traditional pubs, you’ll enjoy a proper British getaway here.

    Devizes

    Located right in the centre of Wiltshire, this lovely old market town packs more than 500 listed buildings. With a large market place in the middle of town, come Thursday, you can enjoy the hustle and bustle of Devizes’ weekly market.

    Watch peacocks wander freely around the pretty bunting-lined streets of this ancient market town. Just 40 minutes drive away from Stonehenge, Corsham is right on the doorstep of the Cotswolds.

    Westbury White Horse & Bratton Camp

    The Westbury White Horse is cut into the hillside and is visible for miles, so no wonder it is a famous sight on the local landscape. Records suggest that the horse was originally cut in the late 1600s. This was to commemorate the supposed Battle of Ethandun, thought to have taken place at Bratton Camp in AD 878.

    Avebury Henge

    If you enjoy visiting Stonehenge, then it’s well worth also heading to the village of Avebury to explore the henge there. Home to the world’s largest neolithic stone circle, this ancient monument is so huge it encircles a section of the village itself.
