Grounds: Thatched Cottage is approached via a spacious driveway, with ample parking. The garden is idyllic, large and spacious with a pretty stream running at the bottom boundary. Families, not to mention canine companions, will adore this space, which is perfect for enjoying lazy days in. The sunny terrace is ideal for outside dining, and the cottage is surrounded by pretty country views.
This property is ideal for: A family or two couples who are looking for a really comfortable property to use as a base to explore the Suffolk Heritage Coast. Walkers are ideally placed to ramble through some of Suffolk's most beautiful countryside. In fact, the area has something to offer everyone; walkers, sailors, fishermen, cyclists, bird lovers, art lovers, those interested in history and food, or those simply wanting to relax in the garden with a glass of wine... or two! What is more, with the iconic Snape Maltings Concert Hall less than 10 minutes' drive away, music lovers will be in their element.
Minimum hire: Three nights. Changeover is usually a Friday.
Pets: Up to one well behaved dog is very welcome at Thatched Cottage.

Self catering: Grocery deliveries are available and there is a great selection of catering options for your stay at Thatched Cottage. There are no shortage of fresh fish stalls dotted along the beachside in Aldeburgh. The daily catch comes straight off the fishing boats, ready to sell that day, you do not get much fresher than that. Best get there early and beat the crowds! Friday Street Farm Shop is worth a visit, and a great place to purchase local fresh food. Fresh fruit, vegetables, locally reared meat, local wines, freshly baked cakes and bread, you name it!

Eating and drinking out: If you fancy trying the tasty local ales, a good home-cooked meal, and listening to the local chat, the following pubs may tickle your fancy: The Golden Key, Snape 01728 688510 Using their own chickens, herbs, honey, rare-breed pigs, sheep, and locally shot game, The Golden Key is a fantastic place to enjoy an evening meal, or a simple lunchtime snack.
The Crown Inn, Snape 01728 688324 Another great pub that uses its own home-reared produce including quails, geese, chickens, ducks, turkeys, lamb, and rare breed pigs. All their fish is bought directly from Orford fishermen. A lovely menu.

Packing tips: Towels and bed linen are provided, but do not forget to bring beach towels, the North Sea is certainly good for the circulation!
