The Haughmond is a well-received cottage in Shropshire, praised for its comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, and the added convenience of an on-site cafe and restaurant. Guests enjoyed the welcome pack and the property's suitability for dogs, although some noted a need for additional bathrooms and better kitchen facilities. The location offers peaceful surroundings and is close to Shrewsbury, with friendly staff and a cosy atmosphere.
Guests generally found the property clean and welcoming, with specific compliments on the immaculate condition. However, a few mentioned cobwebs and a musty smell in one area, slightly affecting the overall perception of cleanliness.
The property's location is highly regarded for its peaceful setting and proximity to Shrewsbury. It offers lovely walks and is appreciated for its quiet village charm, although some guests noted the need for personal transport due to limited public transport options.
The comfort of the beds and the spaciousness of the property were highlights, although some guests mentioned that additional seating and a second bathroom would enhance comfort for larger groups.
Facilities such as the on-site pub and restaurant were well-received, and the kitchen was noted to be well-equipped by some. However, there were several mentions of inadequate kitchenware, a tricky oven, and a lack of clear instructions for appliances, suggesting room for improvement in maintenance and facilities.
The welcome pack provided was a delightful touch that guests appreciated, indicating thoughtfulness from the hosts. It should be noted that such gifts, while enjoyed by previous guests, are not guaranteed for every stay.

It is well equipped although we felt a few more mugs would be useful if 6 people are staying. The staff at the Haughmond Country Inn and The Village Store were very friendly. Unfortunately the table directly outside The Barn was used by many cyclists and could be quite noisy. It may be an idea to move it away from the entrance to the barn or reserve it for use by occupants of the barn if people are staying.
Tak
Iâd even go as far to say that the pictures do not do it justice. It has almost everything you could think of and need for a cosy and chilled weekend away. We were surprised to see fresh bread, milk, eggs and sausages upon arrival, we really appreciated it. Iâd like to say a big thanks to Sam who gave us such a warm welcome and kindly showed us around the barn. I will definitely be back again!

A welcome gift of milk, bread, sausage and orange juice was a lovely suprise. It is set in a lovely location, within easy access of shrewsbury and surrounding areas. We were met by the owner on arrival who was very welcoming. Also the local shop and pub were ideally situated for amenities.
