Oliver's Mill is close to the charming market town of Whitchurch, which is filled with a wide range of artisan shops & cafes, Grindley Brook and the Llangollen Canal, and within easy reach of Shrewsbury, Chester, and Liverpool. It's ideal for big families or groups of friends who are celebrating a special occasion or just catching up over a relaxed few days in the countryside.

Oliver's Mill is a beautifully converted barn in a fantastic location. It's on a working farm in the heart of the Shropshire countryside, close to the Llangollen Canal and with direct access to the Shropshire Way long-distance footpath. There is plenty of space for up to 10 people to sleep in five bedrooms, with a layout that appeals to extended families as well as groups of friends. As one of five superb holiday homes at Alkington Grange Barns, guest have use of excellent facilities that include a heated indoor swimming pool, sports court and a picnic area.

This area is bursting with local attractions to entertain all ages and group sizes, from embarking on an adventurous walk at Hawkstone follies, to experiencing the UK renowned Bewilderwood, tire the kids out at The Crocky Trail, take a tractor ride at Park Hall Farm, visit the World renowned Chester Zoo, taste one of over 200 flavours of Ice Cream at The Cheshire Ice Cream Farm or go wild at the Aqua Park at Alderford Lake, to name but a few excellent attraction right on your door step!! 

Alkington Grange Barns are in a wonderfully rural location and surrounded by gorgeous views. In addition to the Shropshire Way footpath which passes through the farm, other local walks include the 15-mile circular Whitchurch Wheel, the 33-mile Sandstone Trail, and Offa's Dyke National Trail. Each offers something unique and different - sure to whet the appetite of any keen walker. Cyclists and mountain bikers can also expect a high standard of rides. Those searching for a challenge will enjoy the trails around Church Stretton while those who like it easier can follow the canal path along the Llangollen Canal to Whitchurch and Grindley Brook. The Sustrans Mercian Cycle Route 45 takes riders along gorgeous country lanes between Whitchurch and Shrewsbury. There is bike hire on-site for those who need it, as well as secure bike storage.

Days out can be as relaxed or full-on as you choose. Stay home and make use of the excellent facilities by swimming in the pool, playing football or tennis, tucking into lunch at the woodland picnic spot near the wildlife trail. If you're on holiday for a milestone birthday or a hen weekend, then why not book a pamper party, or make a celebration even more special by booking a local chef to cater or hold a Pottery Party at Doodle Alley located in Whitchurch itself.

There are three World Heritage Sites within easy reach. The picturesque Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal is closest, at 17 miles away from Alkington Grange Barns. Ironbridge Gorge is about 24 miles away, while the Maritime Mercantile City is a 35-mile drive. Liverpool and Chester are both within reach for a day of shopping and sightseeing, and you can take the kids to Chester Zoo or Alton Towers. The National Trust cares for some stunning properties in the area, with notable examples being Erddig Hall, Attingham Park and Wroxter Roman Site.

Accommodation Comprises:

Oliver's Mill is an 18th Century brick barn converted into a stylish holiday property with loads of charm and character. Accommodation is over two levels.

Downstairs:

Entry via a welcoming hallway where the beams that are a feature of the barn are on display, and an oak staircase rises to the first floor.

Living room with lots of comfortable seating, a log burner, and a TV with a Blu-Ray player.

Snug/smaller sitting room with a sofa and a TV with Freeview channels - perfect if not everyone wants to watch the same thing, or adults want a quiet place to chat while the kids watch TV.

Dining room with a solid oak table and seating for 10 people.

Fitted kitchen very well equipped for group catering. Appliances include two ovens, a microwave, a big American-style fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a washing machine.

Family shower room with a shower, WC and a handbasin.

Upstairs:

All five bedrooms are on the first floor. Beds are made up with quality linen for guests' arrival, and bath towels are also provided.

Master bedroom with a king-sized bed, bedside tables with reading lights, and an ensuite with a shower, heated towel rail, WC and a handbasin.

Two of the bedrooms are lovely double rooms.

Outside: As well as the excellent shared facilities in the grounds, guests of Oliver's Mill have a private enclosed garden with space to play and a seating area. There is ample off-street parking.

Additional Information: All utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included. A welcome basket of logs is provided for the log burner, with more available to purchase on-site. A travel cot (no bedding), highchair and stairgate are available on request. Pets are allowed at Oliver's Mill- one well behaved dog. Smoking is not permitted indoors. Short breaks are possible.
