Guests say

Guests generally enjoy their stays at Ailsa Craig, praising the beautiful views, peaceful surroundings, and the wood-fired hot tub. The host, Nigel, is often mentioned as friendly and helpful. Some guests suggest improvements for comfort and facilities, but the positive experiences with the location and the unique charm of the pods seem to outweigh the negatives.

The property is mostly described as clean and well-kept, with only a few mentions of issues such as a murky hot tub and unclean barbecues. The majority of guests did not raise cleanliness as a concern, indicating a high standard of hygiene.

The location is highly praised for its stunning views, peacefulness, and proximity to local amenities. It is described as a perfect spot to relax and reconnect with nature, contributing to a very positive experience.

Comfort receives mixed reviews. While the pods are described as warm and the setting is luxurious, several guests mention issues with the mattresses being too soft or springy. Some guests also suggested the need for thicker curtains or blinds.

Facilities are generally good, with well-equipped pods and appreciated extras like LED lights and speakers. However, guests have suggested improvements such as better BBQ utensils, wine glasses, and microwave dishes. The hot tub is a highlight, though maintenance issues were noted.

While guests appreciate the host's helpfulness and the facilities provided, there are no specific mentions of gifts or extra thoughtful touches that would warrant a score in this category. Therefore, the score is set to null.

Just an upgrade needs to be done with the TV. Struggled to get our apps linked with the TV, controller wasn't working properly either. Other than that, it was lovely

This was the worst holiday experience we had in our lives in the UK. This property owner is completely a racist who treats as per skin colour. We saw his mood change when he saw us for the first time. When we asked how to operate some equipment at the property, he sacastically laughed and replied, "I do not know," and he also shouted, "You should have come with a known one," when we asked how to open the hot tub. He threatened us to remove the vehicles from the property, and if not, he was going to run over them with his trailor. The bedding is not clean at all. You cannot see it in pictures, but we terribly smelt it. When enquired it he lied us those are just came from the laundry.Flies and mosquitoes are everywhere, but there hasn't been a vaporiser or anything.Wifi is a complete lie. There is no Wifi facility. The TV and its remote are not functioning as well. Do not ever book this terrible rude cottage!!!

Kids loved the hot tubs, owner was friendly and helpful. Beautiful views and quiet. Not far from local amenities, about 15mins from big supermarket.
