A beautiful ground floor studio property, attached to the owners' 17th century house, on the edge of Austwick, one of the most popular villages in the Dales. This cottage in Austwick offers superb facilities on one floor with level access. The open-plan living area has a king-size bed, small modern kitchen and sitting and dining areas. Add to this a separate shower room and guests have a perfect romantic retreat, somewhere to get away from it all and enjoy a Dales visit at its finest. This cottage in Austwick is only a minute's walk from the village green and excellent local pub, and just twenty yards from the front door is The Traddock, an award-winning hotel and restaurant. Ideally situated in this beautiful part of the National Park, this Austwick cottage is in an excellent location for exploring on foot or by bike. The market towns of Settle and Kirkby Lonsdale are nearby and the impressive Three Peaks and Malham Cove are not far away. Arguably one of the finest areas for walking in the region, the village of Austwick provides an excellent base for ramblers looking to explore the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Full of limestone pavements and scars, caves and open moors, this diverse and varied scenery offers a wealth of wonderful cycle tracks and walks through areas full of natural interest. In addition to boasting an excellent local pub serveing home cooked meals as well as a country hotel for an extra special night out, Austwick also has a shop and post office to meet visitors daily needs. As one of the less well-known villages in the area, this wonderful little settlement offers a quiet location off the beaten track and away from the crowds. With the towns of Settle, Kirkby Lonsdale, Skipton and Kendal all close by, Austwick provides peace and quiet without leaving you feeling marooned.

The hosts are very welcoming and are keen to ensure that you enjoy your stay. There is plenty of information about places to go and what to do and there is a good variety of walks straight from the door. Highly recommended.

The owners are next door and very pleasant and helpful. The kitchen facilities are a little limited with no oven but there are options close by for eating out if necessary. We loved the place, our second visit and we will be back next year.
