Misleading photos of the property, not up to date or accurate, the photos taken almost a decade ago when the property was obviously well kept and beautiful, today this is not the case, the photos outside are not an accurate reflection, the garden was horrible, dead plants, tired furniture, cigarette butts, the kitchen small cluttered and not well kept, overall a very disappointing booking for the money charged. Walls without plaster, cracks, damp patches, kitchen floor knackered, the black bedrooms bathroom dirty tired damaged with cracked toilet that leaks and very outdated, the boiler leaking with a known fault that resulted in it stopping during our stay and plumbers attending, the house cold and damp as the boiler not fit for purposeâ¦.. I could continue but wonât. The property location was central, and had parking, this would be the only positive of the property. Iâve used Sykes before, but in my opinion this once beautiful property needs delisting and bringing back to a lettable standard. £800 plus for a 4 night out of season break I expect better, not stained bedding, not dirty run down council flat vibes, and shame on you Sykes for using photos taken 10 years ago, the furniture is different, the slabs in the garden donât even match them photos are that old, and youâve a nerve to charge a £150 housekeeping bond

Had everything we needed. Absolutely brilliant location, just a short walk into the town - our teenage boys loved being able to explore the area, sights and bakeries before the whole house had stirred!! Our only recommendation for the house would be - thicker curtains required. Although the sun shining through the windows did make us get up and out early ( just a little too early for us)!! Already planning next year's holiday to Whitby!

It is a large property, well furnished, with ample space and lots of bathrooms, parking for two cars, ideal for a larger group. My wife and I stayed there with our daughter's family, six people in total. There were a few maintenance issues which I have reported to Sykes Cottages and, unusually, no welcome pack on arrival. Well situated for the harbour, station and Pannett Park, just a few minutes away and only 10 minutes walk from the beach.
