Like others we found the fridge noisy despite it being turned to its lowest setting, and fiddling with the bath taps to get the right temperature for the shower became annoying (not to mention mopping the bathroom floor afterwards due to the leaking shower head). We spent an amusing week guessing which ring would heat up on the hob when we turned a knob (the image beside each knob had faded too much); trying to turn the kitchen taps off sufficiently so they didnât drip; wondering why the 'caution hot water' notice in the bathroom was beside the cold tap and what the 2 additional keys on the key ring were for! The location is wonderful and we had a good time exploring the city.

When we arrived we could not get the TV to work it kept advising " Weak Signal" this was reported on Saturday morning, later in the day I was advised someone would be out on Monday to sort this. Someone did come out, but unfortunately the TV was not fixed correctly as we were unable to get any of the basic terrestrial channels.(BBC, ITV, etc.) the channels that were available weren't worth watching. The shower is not the best as it is only a mixer tap over the bath, trying to get the water to the right setting a bit fiddly, the shower head is slightly damaged on the side and water spouts out over the screen and soaks the floor. Paintwork in the bathroom also peeling but this is more than likely caused by guests not switching on the fan when having a bath or shower (Maybe would be advisable to put a sign beside the switch).

Couldnât fault the accommodation at all. However, we saw no mention on the Sykes website that this third-floor apartment has no lift, a fundamental piece of information that we think should be on the property details. Sadly, for us, this is a deal breaker for a second visit.
