The Georgian market town of Easingwold (4.5 miles), with its cobbled square and shops, cafes/restaurants and pubs, is well worth a visit and the city of York, rich in history and culture with Roman roots and a Viking past, is a short drive away (18 miles). Also within easy reach are National Trust properties and grand houses including Castle Howard (15 miles).
