Guests say

Summerfield Farm Cottage is highly praised for its cleanliness, peaceful and quiet location, and comfortable amenities. Guests appreciate the warm welcome from the owners and the well-equipped kitchen. The enclosed garden and modern updates are also noted, alongside the convenience for local attractions and the provision of fresh eggs, which, while delightful, are subject to availability.

Reviews consistently mention the cottage's cleanliness, with guests satisfied with the state of the property upon arrival. The attention to Covid cleaning protocols is also appreciated, indicating a high standard of hygiene.

The cottage's location is celebrated for its tranquillity and proximity to local sights and amenities. While some guests mention it is a bit away from the village, the peaceful surroundings and views are seen as positive attributes.

Comfort is a recurring theme, with guests finding the beds particularly comfortable and the cottage warm and cosy. The presence of a log fire and the overall homeliness contribute to a comfortable stay.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, especially the well-equipped kitchen. However, some guests note that certain areas could benefit from a fresh coat of paint and minor maintenance, slightly affecting the score.

While guests mention receiving fresh eggs and other welcoming gestures, there are not enough references to consistently assess the level of thoughtfulness across all reviews. Therefore, it cannot be guaranteed that such gifts will always be provided.

The cottage is clean, the rooms are spacious and uncluttered, the ambiance is pleasant and homely. The kitchen has a comfortable amount of workspace and plenty of cupboard room. Although the cottage is next to the owners' home, the windows all face away over the fields/down the drive, and the cottage garden is on the side away from the owners' windows and door, so one has a feeling of privacy and quiet. The garden has a table, chairs and a parasol for sitting out in fine weather. The views from the bedrooms, by the way, are delightful. Just one thing to be aware of is that the stairs are steep. It won't be a problem for most adults, and I think that the owners provide a safety gate for toddlers, but something to consider if someone is elderly or frail?

The location is quiet and peaceful even though its on a working farm. Very well quipped and spotlessly clean. Everything provided for. The hosts are lovely and friendly and welcoming and nice to know they’re on hand if there were any problems. We had a lovely stay and will definitely be booking for next year.

Double room only had a 3/4 bed, small and not very comfortable. A few light bulbs already blown and no replacements could be found. Apart from that we had a lovely stay. Thank you
