Situated in the quaint and friendly village of Shiptonthorpe you will find The Old Church, a beautifully converted chapel surrounded by open countryside, making it an ideal base for exploring the stunning Yorkshire Wolds, the Yorkshire coast, and the nearby city of York. Venture a little further to the Yorkshire Moors and Dales national parks.

Tastefully renovated into a contemporary hideaway, The Old Church is perfect for one or two couples, or a family of up to six.

Enter the property and be welcomed into the inner porch with handy boot storage, which leads into a large open-plan living space with a feature spiral staircase leading to the mezzanine floor.

The modern kitchen is subtly lit and fully equipped with quality appliances, enjoy a delicious meal around the large kitchen island or the six-seater dining table.

The sitting area offers comfortable seating with two leather sofas and a log effect fire, a large

screen Smart TV along with the benefit of unlimited high-quality Wi-Fi. The ground floor offers a tastefully appointed double bedroom containing a luxurious en-suite, You will also find an additional large family bathroom with a full-size bath, shower, vanity basin, and WC. The spiral staircase leads to the second large sleeping area comprising of a super-king-size bed which converts to two singles if required, and a double sofa bed. From here you can view the rustic exposed brick wall which still features the original church cross.

Downstairs, the French doors open onto a secluded sunny outside area where the patio furniture has a full-size table for six for evening drinks or alfresco dining. You may also enjoy a tasty BBQ and wish to take advantage of the feature brick-built barbeque.

There is also a lockable shed for bike storage with ebike charging facility. The private rear patio area is totally secure so you can relax should you have a canine companion. If eating out is your choice, you can enjoy a family dinner at the Mumbai Lounge restaurant just a short stroll away from the property. The Old Church is a 5-minute walk from The Shiptonthorpe Milk Shed situated on a working dairy farm, where you can collect fresh creamy milk along with a range of other delicious local produce.

The historic town of Market Weighton is only 2 miles away with independent shops, a supermarket and a range of pubs and restaurants.

The olde world Goodmanham Arms is a delightful pub, with its own brewery, situated in the village of Goodmanham and is a picturesque walk from The Old Church through the old Londsborough Deer Park (apparently where Henry VIII used to hunt).

A little further you will find Pocklington, a characterful market town, with a weekly market and a further choice of shops, delicatessens, and restaurants.This market town is perhaps best known for Burnby Hall Gardens where you will find eight acres of beautiful gardens with two large lakes, home to the National

Collection of water lilies. Nearby is the old Pocklington canal, ideal for nature walks and bird watching.

The Old Church is only half a mile from The Yorkshire Wolds Way long distance footpath, linking with The Chalklands Way, The Minster Way and many other countryside paths passing through glorious Yorkshire Wolds scenery.
