Fraserburgh is located near the mouth of the Moray Firth, just along the north-east coast from Aberdeen. Although though it is still a bustling fishing port, the number of boats has drastically dropped over time, even if modern boats are much larger than those of the past. The town itself is a true community, complete with a potent football team and a stunning 18-hole golf course that, unbelievably, houses the seventh-oldest club in the history of the world, founded in 1777. Visitors are always welcome at the contemporary clubhouse, where they can relax in the bar, dining room, and lounge spaces that have views of the course and sand dunes. The Scottish Lighthouses Museum, located in Fraserburgh, is well worth a visit and provides a thorough overview of the development of lighthouses in Scotland's northern regions. A lovely seaside community with a long history and a distinguished beach is Fraserburgh. The 18-hole Inverallochy golf course is accessible by foot from Fraserburgh. There are several wildlife-friendly areas nearby, including the rspb Loch of Strathbeg, one of the best in the UK, and the 230-acre parkland of Aden Country Park.
