The town of Annan, a former harbour, lies on the banks of the River Annan, in East Dumfries and Galloway, and is steeped in history, with the area once the site of Roman camps and the workplace of the writer Thomas Carlyle. Each year, the town celebrates the Riding of the Marches, in honour of the Royal Charter bestowed by King James V, which involves parades, massed pipe bands and competitions.

....so comfortable, it wraps you in a hug the minute you drive through the gate. Lovely owner who cares so much about her home and more importantly the comfort of her guests. This was our second visit and would love to make a 3rd trip. Not any complaints from us. Thanks Carolyn for sharing with us.

The photos don’t do the place justice. Carolyn was an amazing host and really friendly. Great communication before and during our stay. She gave us lots of information of places of interest and where to go to eat. She also provided a lovely welcome pack. Garden was huge and enclosed, our dog loved it and there is a fabulous walk right at the end of it. 3 large bedrooms beautifully decorated, really comfortable beds. This was our first stay and it won’t be the last, we had already discussed returning on the first day. Thank you Carolyn for an amazing stay. I can’t wait to return.

All beautifully maintained. Carolyn couldn’t do enough to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Plenty to do for three generations and our dog loved the garden and nearby walks. This was our fourth visit and will definitely be back.
