The Barn is a well-received holiday cottage, praised for its cosy atmosphere, scenic location, and dog-friendly amenities. Guests enjoyed the surrounding wildlife, local walks, and the property's rustic charm. While some noted minor issues with the bed comfort and the lack of Wi-Fi, the overall experience was positive, with many expressing a desire to return.
Most guests found The Barn to be spotlessly clean and well-maintained, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. However, a few guests mentioned that cleanliness could be improved, particularly for those sensitive to pet hair.
The location is highly praised for its tranquility, proximity to beaches, and abundance of wildlife. It serves as an excellent base for walks and exploring the Scottish countryside. The track to the property may be challenging for some vehicles.
The Barn is generally considered comfortable and homely. However, some guests found the bed too soft or small, and one tall guest had difficulty fitting comfortably. The lack of Wi-Fi was also noted as a discomfort for some visitors.
Facilities are well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and secure garden for dogs. Some guests missed having a dishwasher and Wi-Fi, and there were mixed comments about the bath and shower facilities.
Guests appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as dog treats and a welcoming bottle of wine. While these gestures were well-received, it is important to note that such gifts are offered at the discretion of the owners and may not be a consistent feature for all stays.

It has such a cosy welcoming feeling to it. We stayed in a couple of times as it was so comfortable! The bed is amazing, my husband had his best sleep that he's had for a long time. A great place to stay with woodland, beach & countryside all around. A lovely view from the upstairs veranda/patio area where you can sit & relax too.

Firstly the location is stunning with Rockcliffe beach a short walk away. The Barn itself is a gorgeous, warm, comfortable & well equipped home from home. The hosts go above and beyond with making your stay one to remember! After a long drive we were welcomed by a bottle of red and delicious cheese & biscuits waiting for us it was very much appreciated by me the driver! The weather wasnât great but gave us the excuse to put our feet up & have the fire on - heaven! The Barn is the ideal getaway retreat for couples, friends and family (the bed was ideal for sharing with my daughter) no arguments occurred all week! Thank you for a memorable stay and we will be returning x P.S. Ted the collie also appreciated his treats and doggie bowls for him to use during the stay!
