Ashwood lodge, graded 4 star by Visit Scotland is located on a working farm, near Sandyhills on the Solway coast with stunning scenery.  Clifton Farm itself is a haven for wildlife and also has an award winning herd of Belted Galloway Cows.  It is in the heart of the beautiful Galloway countryside and close to the rspb Mersehead Reserve on the Solway Firth, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The lodge provides an excellent location for exploring Southern Scotland including easy access to the adjacent Solway Coast which provides numerous opportunities for beach walks together with water sport activities and easy access to the Forestry Commissions 7Stanes Mountain Bike Stages at the Mabie Forest and Dalbeattie woods.  Golf is available nearby at Southerness links course and there are two further 9 hole courses close to hand.  The area is ideal for horse riding with stables at Sandyhills or you can bring your own horse to stay with you by arrangement on the farm.  The farm also has opportunities for rock climbing on Clifton Crag which has five recognised climbs for the experienced.

First floor: King size double bedroom; Galleried living area with sofa bed and balcony with view to Solway Firth; Shower room.
