Steeped in history and with so much to do in the surrounding area, you won t know where to start! During your stay, take the opportunity to explore Stirling (7 miles) with its famous castle high up on the rocks and take in the magnificent views from the hill top esplanade towards the National Wallace Monument. The picture postcard village of Doune (15 miles) boasts a historic 14th century castle that features as Castle Leoch in Outlander and Winterfell in Game of Thrones or enjoy a dram at the local distillery. Take a family trip to The Kelpies & The Helix and the Falkirk Wheel (7 miles) or head to Blair Drummond Safari Park (13 miles) and spot some exotic wildlife. Motorway and rail links will connect you to the cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow (34 miles). This impressive tower house is bursting with character and boasts parts dating back to the 14th century. The cosy living areas have been lovingly decorated whilst retaining many original features, offering a truly medieval experience over all four levels. You can access the tower via the steps to the right of the Manors which lead into a small entrance hall. The kitchen has everything required to cook up a good meal and is a great place to gather for breakfast and chat about the day ahead. Follow the spiral stairs up to the banqueting hall with a medieval fireplace and traditional roof beams. Host a dinner party for family and friends, enjoying your time together around the dining table or a dram by the fire whilst reading up on your Scottish history. Continuing up the spiral staircase you will find two bedrooms; one double and one twin as well as a family shower room with WC. Continue up the staircase to the original tower section of the castle, The Crown Room, where you ll find a welcoming lounge area that offers the perfect place to read, relax, unwind, or watch a movie on the TV. Light the roaring wood burner to keep you cosy on cooler evenings and marvel at the views looking out in every direction. This room also has a curtain to divides the room, making an additional bedroom with two single beds. There is also a small kitchen area to make a hot drink. Venture outside the communal gardens covering 3 acres of lawns, woodland and a small lake with resident ducks and a fire pit. Need to know: 3 bedrooms 1 double, 2 twin. 1 shower room with WC. Shops, restaurants and pubs 3 miles. Please note due to the nature of the stairs and layout of the castle, this property may not be suitable for young children or guests with mobility difficulties. For larger groups, Cockabendies Castle Manor is next to the Tower and can sleep a further 9 guests.
