Guests say

Dunira is a charming and well-appointed cottage in the picturesque village of Falkland, receiving high praise for its cosy atmosphere, tasteful decor, and private garden. Guests appreciate the comfortable furnishings, the well-equipped kitchen, and the luxurious copper bath. The village's friendly vibe, along with its shops and dog-friendly walks, adds to the property's appeal. While parking can be challenging, the cottage's warmth and amenities make it a highly recommended stay.

The cottage is consistently described as spotless and clean, with guests noting the high standard of cleanliness upon arrival. One review mentioned the presence of dog hair, but this seems to be an isolated comment amidst overall excellent feedback.

The location in the heart of Falkland is highly praised for its convenience to local shops, pubs, and walks. The proximity to Falkland Palace and the scenic surroundings contribute to the positive reviews. Parking difficulties are noted when the Palace is open, slightly impacting the score.

Guests find the cottage cosy and the beds comfortable, contributing to a relaxing stay. Some guests mention the copper bath and overhead shower may pose a challenge for less agile individuals, and one comment about a cold living room suggests room for improvement in comfort during colder months.

The well-appointed kitchen, private garden, and woodburner receive positive mentions, indicating good facilities. However, a few guests experienced issues with the shower and heating, suggesting some maintenance could enhance the facilities' rating.

While guests express appreciation for the cottage's amenities and the welcoming atmosphere, there are no specific mentions of gifts or special touches that would fall under the category of thoughtfulness. Therefore, a score cannot be provided.

The property was really clean and little touches, like a pint of milk in the fridge were really welcome. Falkland itself was great, especially loved discovering some of the walks around Falkland Estate. We may well be back!

It was probably the best equipped house we have ever stayed and we have been in quite a few over the years. It is very tastefully decorated and furnished in keeping with the age of the house. Falkland is a delightful town which has escaped modernisation. There are lovely independent shops and of course the palace is a must see. If walking is your thing there’s plenty around without having to use the car. Further afield the coastal villages and towns on the Fife coast are also very pretty. Kellie castle and Hill of Tarvit are NTS properties not far away. The house was warm and cosy but if it was in the winter months it could be difficult to keep the droughts at bay in the living room as there are no doors between it and the kitchen. Apart from that top marks to the owners they have a lovely little house.

The cottage is beautifully maintained, blending traditional charm with modern comforts. It was spotless upon arrival, and we instantly felt at home. The cozy fireplace, well-equipped kitchen, and comfortable beds made our stay incredibly relaxing. The location is ideal, with breathtaking views and easy access to local walks and attractions in the charming village of Falkland. We couldn’t have asked for a better retreat, and we’ll definitely be back.
