The front garden is a special place to sit and enjoy the incredible scenery, and in the garden at the rear, you can view open hillside where deer roam freely. The village of Strontian offers good local services, and there is a variety of hotels to choose from, which provide good dining opportunities. A visit to the wildlife hide at Ardery is a must, where you will be able to see seals, otters and perhaps golden eagles that are common in the area. Alternatively, take a ferry to the small islands of Rhum, Muck, Canna, Mull, Iona and Eigg which are all close enough for a visit from your superb Scotland cottage on the unforgettable Ardnamurchan Peninsula. This fantastic cottage offers a wonderful base to explore the surrounding lochs, beaches and mountains of this glorious part of Scotland.
Strontian is located on the north shore of Loch Sunart and is the main village in this striking area of the West Highlands of Scotland, commonly referred to as the Ardnamurchan Peninsula. There is a relaxed pace of life here which is typical of the Highlands, with quiet roads and spectacular scenery. Strontian boasts good local amenities with shops, pubs and local hotels providing an excellent standard of cuisine. There is a real vibe in the village especially in the summer months, and wonderful live music can be heard in the Sunart Centre. From Strontian you can drive the spectacular mountain road over the shoulder of Ben Resipole and down to the beautiful Polloch, on the shores of inland Loch Shiel.
