Guests say

Island View House is a well-equipped, comfortable cottage with lovely beds and a great setting for walking. It boasts a hot tub and sauna, adding to the enjoyment of guests. The proximity to a hotel restaurant and pizza is a plus. However, some guests noted areas for improvement in maintenance and cleanliness.

Guests appreciated the provision of towels but noted the property could benefit from a spring clean, with mentions of dusty skirting boards and cobwebs. The oven's cleanliness was questioned, suggesting room for improvement.

The property is praised for its beautiful location, ideal for family gatherings and enjoying the scenery. Its proximity to a hotel restaurant is also appreciated, although the presence of midges in June is noted.

The beds and bedding are described as very comfortable, contributing positively to the guests' stay. However, concerns were raised about the adequacy of dining space and cutlery for larger groups, as well as the comfort of the pillows.

The hot tub and sauna are highlights, but guests reported issues with the sauna booking process, a lack of teaspoons and bottle opener, and a non-functional sliding door. The hot tub's privacy and the property's general maintenance were also points of contention.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, it is not possible to assess this category based on the provided reviews.

Then discovered it was SO MUCH MORE! It was very deceiving! We stayed in THE island View house. It was huge on the inside. There were 6 of us and it was completely spacious and comfortable! Clean! We were at the Steak and Lobster Bistro and everything was EXCELLENT from the appetizers through the desserts. I would highly recommend this place.

The house is in a great setting for walking, the bedrooms have lovely comfy beds, sitting room nice for gathering but kitchen can only sit 6 for eating so had to squeeze round for meal times. Overall lovely house could do with a spring clean, dusty skirting boards and cobwebs. Not sure when oven was last cleaned? The patio doors definitely need fixing as they do not lock so for insurance purposes and safety not sure this should be allowed.

3 people had to drop out but this was fortunate as it would have been extremely difficult for 7 to have shared the only other bathroom, apart from the en-suite. We could not all have eaten at the dining table and there wasn't enough cutlery. No teaspoons or bottle opener. Very comfortable beds and bedding but the pillows weren't. Loads of towels but no tea towels. I paid nearly £4,000 for this week and don't feel the quality of the accommodation was value for money. We enjoyed our week but have stayed in many Airbnbs in this country and abroad and feel the standard was much higher in their accommodation. The cover was left off the outside cushions so they were soaked when we arrived. We left them out to dry and put them back under cover properly for the next visitors. The sliding door didn't open which meant we couldn't fully enjoy the lounge and had to trek though the kitchen and around the side to get to the hot tub. The place was generally a bit tired and didn't feel luxurious. Quite disappointed really and feel a bit ripped off.
