It was my first time visiting Scotland and I stayed at this charming cottage, it was nothing short of spectacular.

Nestled in a tranquil area, the cottage provided the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The serene surroundings and the picturesque views were simply breathtaking. Every morning, I was greeted by the sight of lush greenery, as someone who has always lived in the city surrounded by buildings this was honestly eye opening, making it the perfect spot for nature lovers. The cottage itself was cozy and well-appointed, with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was fully equipped, allowing us to prepare our meals with ease, and the living area was perfect for unwinding in the evenings with a good film or a book (the cottage had both books to read, DVD’s to watch a film and a smart TV to browse through). The area was incredibly peaceful, providing a much-needed escape into nature. The only sounds I heard were the gentle rustling of trees and the occasional chirping of birds, creating a tranquil atmosphere that was perfect for relaxation. Whether I was enjoying my morning tea on the decking or taking a leisurely walk around the area, I felt a deep sense of calm and rejuvenation. There were plenty of scenic trails for hiking, the cottage had a lot of leaflets, travel guides and folders with maps to see nearby attractions. We visited a waterfall that wasn’t too far from the back of the cottage took us approx 1-2 hours to reach and it was breathtaking (just a heads up it was a lot of walking and some incline). There’s also an estate nearby that held the beautiful Highland cows and had some hiking trails. We saw a deer once on the first day but unfortunately we didn’t see anymore. There was beautiful little birds that would visit the birdhouse in the garden every morning (leave some seeds and water for them to have) and there was some frogs, sheep, turkeys, pigs and the locals friendly dogs. This cottage is a great base if you’re interested in visiting Isle of Skye it takes around an hour from the cottage. John and Mae were both incredibly friendly and welcoming, they were both attentive to any needs and always willing to assist with any inquiries or requests. Their easygoing nature and sincere care contribute to a truly memorable and pleasant stay. We felt incredibly comfortable throughout our stay couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The locals were also welcoming and friendly adding to the overall positive experience! In conclusion, this cottage offered an unforgettable experience. The combination of its beautiful views, peaceful surroundings, and comfortable accommodations made it a perfect getaway. I highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a serene and beautiful place to stay in the Scottish Highlands! :)

The best view in the whole of Glenelg!

A mesmerising place. The dog and the teenagers loved it even though there was just one blue sky day and sunset (when the rest of GB bathed in the heat!). The Glenelg Inn is sublime and Dun Brewery feels like you're in France. Great paddle boarding spot. The only thing to be mindful is getting to Glenelg itself. The one route in is not for the faint hearted over the highlands so it was decision by the teens to only leave Glenelg via the ferry to Skye. This is an epic way to travel with the assistance the border collie ferry hands but take note of the seasonal and daily times for sailing and also in high winds you're not going anywhere! I dream of Glenelg and the magic there...just make sure you are ok with the last bit of the journey to get to this destination.

Lovely well equipped house, gorgeous view when you get to see it, sadly we were very unlucky with the weather, fantastic wood burner which we used to full advantage.

We picked this cottage for its remote location for wildlife and night photography, on the first night we saw an amazing sky but unfortunately it rained almost constantly thereafter, but if you're looking to stargaze and you get a clear night then this property is definitely a winner. A point to note is that the access road is in very poor condition and the turn into the property is very tight therefore anyone arriving in a car with low(ish) suspension may struggle our Volvo grounded out at a couple of points so care is needed. Village shop stocks only basic essentials, Co-op in Kyle has everything you need. Glenelg inn warm and welcoming but kitchen is closed during the winter hours, opens (Thursday - Sunday nights). Would we return? Yes!

We had a lovely break at Langlands.

The property was spotlessly clean and very well cared for, real attention to detail that is missing in many holiday rentals. The kitchen was very well equipped and we cooked most nights as the restaurants in the village had strange opening times that didn't work for us. The butchers shop was good, and the Co-op well stocked. There is a decent fish and chip shop in Torridon too. If you want to eat out in one of the pubs/restaurants in Torridon you need to book! The location is excellent for getting to different places in Skye and Wester Ross. I wouldn't hesitate to go back (we were blessed with excellent weather too)!

What a perfect place to stay.

The property was fantastic- spacious, with every amenity we needed and spotlessly clean. The location is great, a few minutes walk to the Chinese takeaway and the play park and maybe ten minutes to walk into Kyle. There are lovely walks almost as soon as you step out of the property although many of them are very waterlogged if you have the unfortunate weather that we did. The cottage has clothes airers and a hot airing cupboard if you do have a bad weather week and need to try and dry clothes after every outing. I really cannot recommend this property highly enough
