About this property

Resting in the rural hamlet of Rogart in the Scottish Highlands, with views overlooking the hills, is this beautiful barn conversion, The Steading. This family-friendly home enjoys a bubbling hot tub for a moment of relaxation and is just a short drive away from a village serving a shop and pub. Be greeted by ample off-road parking before entering the single-storey home, where you will find the utility room, home to a boot rack, a washing machine, and a fridge/freezer for storing your snacks. Moving through the property, locate the contemporary kitchen, here you can keep the designated chef company at the central island as they make use of the electric range cooker. Discover the charming sitting room, relax, and unwind on the leather sofa as the woodburning stove crackles nearby; flicker through the Smart TV for a family favourite. Throw open the French doors for an alfresco affair on the outdoor furniture and watch the sky grow dark. When eyes grow tired retire inside and choose between two lovely bedrooms, with a king-size with an en-suite and a double with Jack and Jill access to a bathroom: both with Smart TVs for late night entertainment. Jump in the car to visit a rustic Scottish pub to soak in the culture and browse the convenience store for any last-minute essentials. Venture to the coastal village of Golspie to enjoy a much-loved book on a long sandy beach and there is a plethora of independent cafes to grab a steaming cup of coffee. Travel to Dornoch where you’ll find the Royal Durnoch golf course, which was voted the fifth best outside of the United States. Spend a day at the Blue Flag beach with your loved ones, with its sheltering dunes and glistening shores, which are perfect for paddling and swimming. Perched on the east coast of Sutherland, is the village of Brora, here you can put your swing to the test at a fine golf course, walk for miles on Brora Beach and head to the outskirts of the village to the stately home of Dunrobin Castle & Gardens. For a special retreat in a rural setting, choose The Steading.

Rogart is a small settlement in the Scottish Highlands, located in the county of Sutherland. Major Andrew MacDonald, who served in the French and Indian War, was once a resident of the town. The Rogart Railway station, which has become something of an informal outdoor museum of railway relics, is also located in the area. There is a convenience shop, a petrol station, a Parish church, and a traditional Scottish pub in the village. Golspie, a nearby seaside community, is well worth a visit, with a large sandy beach that attracts visitors in all weather conditions, as well as a bustling high street dotted with independent stores, restaurants, bars, and cafés. Rogart is a delightful starting point for exploring this stunning portion of Scotland.

The beds were a bit too firm for our liking and the kitchen island does not make the most comfortable dining table but these are small issues. We loved the hot tub and had a very enjoyable stay. The welcome pack was a lovely touch and much appreciated.

The cottage has been finished to a very high standard in every detail. The owners have created a really luxurious experience; everything that is needed to enjoy a relaxing break is provided including Denby crockery, luxury hand soaps and a thoughtful welcome food and wine package. The hot tub cabin is the perfect topstone for relaxation on another level - whatever the weather is doing! We loved every minute of the time in the cottage and will certainly be back.

There was everything you needed and so much more. The welcome pack was an unexpected bonus. Would definitely recommend a stay at this cottage and the hot tub was definitely a bonus at the end of the day
