Guests say

Tan Twr - Chellow Cottage in Dwyran, Anglesey, boasts stunning views of Snowdonia and a peaceful countryside location. Guests consistently praise its cleanliness, spaciousness, and modern amenities. The cottage is well-situated for exploring beaches and historic sites. Hosts Hilary and Mike receive accolades for their friendliness and helpfulness, enhancing the stay with their attentive hospitality.

The cottage receives high praise for its cleanliness, with multiple reviews highlighting its spotless condition. One review mentioned a minor issue with cobwebs and dust, but this seems to be an isolated comment amidst overall excellent feedback.

The location is highly regarded for its perfect views, proximity to mountains, beaches, and historic sites, and its peaceful rural setting. It is also noted for being on the coastal path, ideal for walking and exploring Anglesey.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with ample space for adults, children, and pets. The beds and living areas are frequently mentioned as cosy and welcoming. One review suggested brighter lighting in some areas, but overall, comfort levels are rated very highly.

Facilities are generally well-received, with the cottage being described as well-equipped and maintained. The woodburner and open-plan layout are appreciated, although one review mentioned a heating issue and another suggested a smarter TV could enhance the experience.

While the reviews reflect positively on the hosts' helpfulness and the provision of a welcome bottle of wine, there is insufficient information on consistent thoughtful gestures such as gifts to accurately score this category. Therefore, the score is set to null, and guests should note that such extras, while possible, are not guaranteed.

About this property

This carefully restored farm building retains much of its original character and charm. Even its name, Chellow, refers to one of its long-gone bovine inhabitants!

A bright, open plan living room greets you, with lovely wooden beams and rafters, wooden flooring with rugs, a multi-fuel stove, comfy seating, TV and DVD player. The dining area is to one end of this spacious room.

The kitchen is separated, but still part of the sitting room, so you can enjoy chatting whilst preparing meals. It is well equipped with an electric cooker and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and toaster.

There's an airing cupboard and drying room in the hall.

A shared tumble dryer is located in the laundry room

There are 3 bedrooms. The master bedroom has a super king size bed and an ensuite with a spacious shower, loo and wash hand basin. There is also a double bedroom with king size bed and a twin bedroom.

The family bathroom has a bath, separate shower, loo and wash hand basin.

The garden has a lovely sun terrace with garden furniture.

Chellow holiday cottage sits in a fantastic location in an Area of outstanding Natural Beauty and with the Angelsey Coastal Path running right outside the door! The cottage has been refurbished to a very high standard to provide warm, contemporary accommodation. The views stretch over open fields towards the Menai Strait and Caernarfon castle. This is a magical sight when it is floodlit in the evenings, with the backdrop of Snowdon and the twinkling lights of the hillside villages.

Chellow Cottage is located next to Tan Twr Farm Cottage. This is a private, converted farm where privacy between each cottage is highly valued. Alternatively, these two cottages would make a fantastic venue for a large group of guests holidaying together.

The small village of Dwyran is close to its larger neighbour of Newborough, which lies on the edge of forests and dunes at the south west corner of Anglesey. Close by is Llanddwyn Bay, renowned as one of the finest beaches in Britain, ideal for swimming, canoeing, beachcombing and birdwatching or just relaxing. Behind the beach, the 1500-acre sand dune system of Newborough Warren is home to skylarks, meadow pipits and oyster catchers as well as toads and lizards and is protected as a National Nature Reserve, while the Red Squirrel Wood at Newborough Forest has miles of great routes for walking, mountain biking and horse riding. The Anglesey Model Village, set in one acre of beautifully landscaped gardens, Anglesey Sea Zoo, Beaumaris Castle, many golf courses and miles of wonderful beaches, are only a short drive away.

The view from the property over to Caernarfon Castle is amazing. We were lucky enough to see the resident red squirrel a couple of times too! The cottage is very spacious, comfortable, warm and very well equipped, everything you need to self cater properly. Short drive to the fantastic beach at Newborough. We had a relaxing and fun week and highly recommend this property.

So warm and welcoming and fulfilling all our needs. The fantastic clear view of Eryri more than makes up for our 7hour journey to get there! Fun times pony riding, visits to Foel Farm and Greenwood. Swimming at Abberfraw, sand castles at LLandwyn, sea glass at Porth Trecastell. Shopping in Beaumaris and of course crabbing on the pier. Catching up with old friends. Loved seeing the red squirrels. Thanks again for having us and as always hope to return soon.

Located on coastal path, about a mile from the beach, so good for walking options. Also close to New borough forest and Aberffraw beach.
