Barn Cottage in Laugharne offers a unique farm experience with friendly hosts and a range of animals. Guests appreciate the peaceful location, the wheelchair accessibility, and the extra touches like a hot tub. While some guests encountered cleanliness and maintenance issues, others found the property to be a hidden treasure, highlighting the welcoming atmosphere and the joy of interacting with the animals.
Reviews present a mixed view on cleanliness. Some guests reported the property as dirty and poorly maintained, with specific complaints about dog hair, a dirty wet room, and a filthy BBQ. However, others found their accommodations to be clean and tidy, suggesting inconsistency in cleaning standards.
The location is generally praised for its peacefulness and natural beauty, offering a serene farm environment. It is appreciated for being a great base for exploring the local area, although one review mentioned it being too remote for their preference.
Comfort receives mixed feedback. Some guests found the mattresses uncomfortable and the property tired, while others described their stay as comfortable and relaxing. The presence of farm animals added to the comfort for some but was a disturbance for others.
Facilities are appreciated by many, especially the hot tub and the availability of disability aids. However, there are several reports of maintenance issues such as broken BBQs, unsafe play areas, and general disrepair, indicating room for improvement.
The hosts are frequently mentioned for their thoughtfulness, providing items like a wheelchair and a shower chair on request. Welcome packs and the opportunity to interact with farm animals were also appreciated. However, as gifts are not guaranteed, guests should not expect them with every stay.

! I took my elderly parents for a weeks holiday...their bed sheets and mattress was of poor quality and the bed appeared to have sand in it!! The wet room (wet being the operative word) if you showered you couldn't use the toilet until the floor dried...no mop to use. The waterfall tap in the sink was very rusty and stiff and was extremely hot!! The stopper in the sink would not connect to therefore kept losing the water. My dad dropped some money out of his pocket whilst on the sofa...when I picked up the cushion to retrieve it...it was obvious it had never seen a hoover..there was paper, dog hairs, crumbs etc. The fire doors were a hazard in themselves, blocked by all sorts of rubbish and scrap, so you couldn't exit if needed to. Peacocks wandering in the garden and using the lid of the hot tub as a toilet. The hot tub itself was full of sand and the water was never checked the whole week we were there! Lots of animals caged in not very nice surroundings..their water bowls were green. I do have photos of these complaints. However...I think an imminent inspection is required...mainly for the fire hazard issues. My daughter books holidays with yourselves regularly and has always been very pleased.
