Guests say

Beach Retreat in Aberporth is highly praised for its stunning views, proximity to beaches, and cosy, well-equipped accommodation. Guests appreciate the comfortable furnishings, particularly the bed, and the powerful shower. The property's location is ideal for walks and enjoying the local scenery. While some minor maintenance issues and cleanliness oversights are mentioned, the overall sentiment is positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

Most guests found the property to be clean and comfortable. However, a few mentioned issues such as cobwebs, scuffed walls, and unclean kitchen items, suggesting room for improvement in deep cleaning and attention to detail.

The location is consistently lauded for its stunning sea views, easy access to beaches, and proximity to local amenities. It is described as quiet, relaxing, and perfect for exploring the coastline, contributing to a high score.

Guests frequently compliment the comfort of the property, especially the bed and the warm, cosy atmosphere. Some concerns about the steep stairs and lack of a handrail on one side are noted, but overall, the comfort level is rated highly.

The property is well-equipped with a good kitchen, large TV with SKY, and a powerful shower. Some guests experienced issues with the SKY TV and Wi-Fi, and there were comments about drafty windows and the need for a fresh coat of paint, indicating some areas for improvement.

While some guests mentioned a lack of a welcome pack, which would have been appreciated, there is not enough consistent information about thoughtful touches or gifts to accurately score this category. Therefore, the score is set to null.

About this property

Situated directly above the sandy beach of Aberporth and with superb sea views, this Cardigan Bay studio cottage makes a perfect coastal retreat for two. Steps lead down to the beach for an evening stroll or there are benches on the village green where you can watch the fishermen bringing in their catch or just enjoy the sun set.

Cardigan Bay coastline is part of the All Wales Coast Path and there are some truly spectacular scenery and walks from the door. There are two sandy beaches in Aberporth and the locals say one of them is always sheltered. Aberporth itself has welcoming pubs, shops and eateries. If you can tear yourself away, a little further along the coast are more coves and beaches such as Mwnt, Tresaith, Llangrannog and Cwmtydu. The coastal towns of Cardigan, New Quay and Aberaeron have a larger selection of eateries and a good selection of shops, galleries and pubs.

Aberporth is a small town that sits on the southern edge of Cardigan Bay in Ceredigion, renowned for it's fabulous beaches that attract visitors, all year round. There are two beaches that sit between the rocky headlands of Trecregyn and Fathgarreg, separated by a smaller rocky outcrop. Uniquely, at low tide they interlink, but at high tide, they create individual beaches and create great rock pools for the children to play in and explore. Small boats, canoes, and kayaks can easily be launched from the north beach, while the south beach lends itself beautifully for a spot of sunbathing. Close to the beaches, there is a small seaside café, fish and chip shop, and a friendly pub serving good food and drinks. In the village itself, there is a range of shops and takeaway stores. Nestled directly on the famous Wales Coast Path, between the towns of Cardigan in the south, and Llangrannog and New Quay to the north, it is a great base for exploring this glorious stretch of coastline. Venture to Cardigan and discover the town’s many shops, tea rooms, restaurants, pubs, and bustling markets. Visit the nearby themed farm park, spot dolphins from the coastal path, or take a boat trip for the chance to see them up close! Aberporth is a great base for exploring this wonderful part of West Wales, with something to do for all the family.

) we arrived to a dishwasher full of dirty dishes, which we were going to clean by hand as there were no dishwasher tablets. But resolved by a phone call to the cleaning company. An unfortunate start but things go wrong occasionally. On the plus side we were able to store our eBikes in the entrance passage, a real bonus for us. And it's a great area for cycling too. So may well return!

The cottage is lovely and has great views across the bay. It's quiet, comfortable and is very close to the beach, local shops and places to eat. It's a great place to relax and unwind and is the perfect base for adventures around Cardigan Bay.

The dining chairs in the kitchen are uncomfortable. Everything else is great!
