Guests say

Maesgwyn cottage receives high praise for its charm, peacefulness, and welcoming hosts, Fran and Chez. Guests appreciate the rural setting with animals nearby, the enclosed garden for dogs, and the cosy atmosphere with a log fire. The property's location is ideal for exploring the coastline and enjoying nature. While most experiences are positive, a single review mentions inadequate heating, but this seems an outlier.

Reviews consistently describe the cottage as clean and well-maintained, with no negative comments on cleanliness, suggesting a high standard upheld by the hosts.

The location is frequently highlighted as peaceful and ideal for nature lovers, with easy access to walks and beaches. One review notes the rural lanes may be challenging for some drivers, but overall the location is highly regarded.

Guests find the cottage cosy and comfortable, with a spacious living area and comfortable beds. The presence of a log fire adds to the comfort, although one review cites issues with heating which slightly impacts the score.

The facilities are generally praised, with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen and improvements being made. However, one review mentions a small fridge and another cites inadequate heating, indicating room for improvement in some areas.

Many reviews mention thoughtful touches like Welsh cakes, milk, and flowers on arrival, contributing to a warm welcome. While these gifts are appreciated, they are not guaranteed for every stay.

Dog friendly and all the walks you could possibly want. Short drive to Cardigan for shopping and Poppet sands for the beach. I highly recommend a visit to Newport beach - amazing for dogs. Out of season a lot of tea rooms etc are closed but it means that you can visit places in relative peace. Cenarth Falls is just a few miles away and is stunning. Fran is an excellent host and nothing is too much trouble. The cottage is clean, very warm and comfortable. See you next year!

We stayed for a week with our young son. Fran was a wonderful host and looked after us perfectly. Thank you for the pumpkins, Harvey loved carving them for Halloween. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed and a perfect base for exploring a beautiful part of Wales. We shall miss our morning coffee, bird watching from the conservatory. Lots of different species and a slightly shy but hungry woodpecker. Thank you Fran

We enjoyed our 2wk stay and grateful to you for putting the heating on that day when it poured with rain, we were soaked. The house stands down a quiet lane away from roads etc. The only noise was nature, sheep, birds of which we saw plenty in the garden, our dog loved the enclosed garden to run around in. We visited the beaches, lovely trails for wheelchair users like myself, Fishguard with its cafe for cream teas. For peace and quiet you couldn't wish for anywhere better, a big thankyou.
