Guests say

Shamrock Cottage receives high praise for its cleanliness, comfort, and thoughtful touches, including welcome packs. The property is well-equipped and ideally situated for exploring North Wales, with guests appreciating its proximity to local attractions. The cosy atmosphere and attentive communication from the hosts contribute to a highly recommended stay, although some guests noted minor issues with parking and the absence of an upstairs bathroom.

Guests consistently commend the cottage for its spotless condition upon arrival, with many highlighting the immaculate presentation and cleanliness as a standout feature.

The cottage's location is praised for being a great base to explore Conwy and surrounding areas, with easy access to walks and attractions. However, a few guests mentioned parking difficulties and the lack of scenic views directly from the property.

The majority of guests find the cottage comfortable, noting the cosy log burner and comfortable beds. A few guests suggested improvements regarding the sofa and the steepness of the stairs.

Reviews highlight the well-equipped kitchen, reliable Wi-Fi, and the inclusion of a dishwasher and washing machine. Some guests mentioned the lack of an upstairs toilet and a desire for larger bath towels.

Many guests are delighted by the thoughtful welcome packs and dog treats, although it's important to note that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

About this property

Offering a peaceful retreat in Deganwy, Shamrock Cottage is a wonderful hidden gem, located away from the hustle and bustle whilst remaining within reach of a plethora of activities. Whether you're looking for a seaside adventure or a couple enjoying a coastal break to wind down, this property offers a beautiful interior to return to each stay. Experience a relaxing evening within the sitting room which rests at the front of the house, offering you a first glimpse of the tranquil grey, blue and white colour palette that runs throughout the property, echoing the waters not far away; watch a film on the Smart TV, settle on the sofa with a book, or simply enjoy a conversation together with a glass of wine while the woodburning stove roars in the background. Gather in the morning around the table in the dining room, home to delightful decor and a marvellous, antique, cabinet and discuss over breakfast where you want to visit during the day ahead. Drenched in natural light from the opaque roof, the kitchen is a serene spot where you can cook up a treat making use of the array of quality appliances, including a gas oven and gas hob, fridge/freezer, and a breakfast bar to perch or work at while the food simmers. Delight in some alfresco dining in the enclosed, paved courtyard in summer, when the weather is on your side, and let the dogs stretch their legs. Completing the ground floor is the lovely bathroom, where a bath with a shower over offers a wonderful place to freshen up each day. Head upstairs to find the two spacious, welcoming bedrooms, both enjoying a light, bright interior with rustic, original wooden floorboards; choose from either the king bedroom, or the twin room, with the latter able to become a king-size bedroom on request thanks to its zip/Iink feature, accommodating different party types. Head into Deganwy and sample the variety of individual cafés, pubs and bars offering the perfect pit-stops between activities, before going down to Deganwy Beach which is completely dog-friendly all year and begin a walk along the Wales Coast Path leading to Llandudno's Great Orme and the home of the now famous Goats of Llandudno. Visit Conwy with its Castle which dates from the 13th-century, marvel at The Smallest House In Great Britain, independent shops or take a boat ride along the River Conwy, go crabbing of the jetty or have an ice cream from the famous Parisella's ice cream shop. Llandudno is a short trip away and boasts many beautiful attractions like its elegant Victorian pier lined with novelties and seaside fun; find Happy Valley Botanical Gardens, the Llandudno Ski and Snowboard Centre and so much more. Shamrock Cottage provides a fabulous base for a North Wales adventure, with close proximity to Snowdonia and the Conwy Valley.

Deganwy is a delightful town which rests on the shores of the Conwy Estuary in North Wales, sitting pleasantly between the Victorian Llandudno and the medieval Conwy. Keen golfers should pack their clubs with two fantastic courses nearby, nature lovers will adore marvelling at the wildlife in the rspb Conwy Nature Reserve just down the way, while the beach offers a gorgeous spot on a sunny day with a sandy and shingle mixture. Host to several shops and pubs too, it holds all you need for a fabulous retreat to North Wales.

It was lovely, warm and cosy . Only downside for us as we had a dog we missed a garden. Otherwise perfect .

Walls a bit thin to next door - can hear conversation sometimes - a fact already known as the notice in the property states. Nice wood burner in living room. Easy walking distance to Llandudno Junction, Deganwy and Conwy, a longer walk to Llandudno, and easy access to the A55 made this an ideal location for us. Hosts (not on site) very hospitable and helpful.

The Cottage was just as we remembered, stunning! The garden has had a full renovation and looks fantastic, it was quite the sun trap. The kitchen is full of high end appliances and equipment and I loved cooking in there each evening. The Cottage has a dishwasher which for me us an incredible treat! No washing up! The furnishings and fabrics were also of high quality, I loved the throws and cushions so much I will be ordering for home! Another fabulous stay. A perfect home from home and incredible base for exploring Wales! Xx
