Y Granar is a spacious three bedroom family cottage situated in Maenan, North Wales (3.7 miles from Llanrwst town). The cottage has been modernised and extended, whilst retaining features of its former life as an old, farm barn. Sitting above the Conwy valley, Y Granar offers all the benefits of its secluded rural location, whilst being within easy reach of a wide range of activities. These include the towns and beaches of the North Wales coast, the mountains of Snowdonia and a host of adrenalin adventures, such as the fastest zipline in the world and Surf Snowdonia. With stunning views across the Conwy Valley to the Carneddau mountains in the West, and the rolling upland farmland to the East, Y Granar also offers a great place to relax and enjoy car free days. There are a number of interesting walks from the cottage, including one to the public National Trust footpath with viewpoint Cadair Ifan Goch (ideal for family and dog walks). This viewpoint is two miles from the cottage and can be reached by taking a stroll along a quiet country lane and woodland. During August 2019, the National Eisteddfod will be visiting the nearby town of Llanrwst. Held during the first week of August every year, the National Eisteddfod is a celebration of the culture and language of Wales. Y Granar is a lovely detached cottage sitting above the picturesque Conwy Valley in Maenan, Wales. Stepping through the front door, you are immediately greeted to spacious rooms, with a light decor that gives off a real home-from-home vibe. The large sitting room has a wall given over to windows and French doors, which showcase the most magnificent views across the surrounding farmland. There is a large flat screen TV, with Freeview and internet connection so you can keep up to date with all your favourite shows during your stay. The large sofas are perfect for curling up and relaxing after a long day sightseeing. Adjacent to the lounge is the spacious dining room with seating for six people. A lovely place to sit and plan the day's events or enjoy a home-cooked meal.The open-plan kitchen offers a second dining area with seating for six, ideal for breakfast time and sunset meals looking out across the Carneddau Mountains. There is another set of French Doors opening out on to the outside seating area from the kitchen. The kitchen has a set of contemporary white units and black granite style worktops, with all the appliances on-hand to cook up a storm for the whole family. The first floor has three bedrooms (two double bedrooms, 1 twin bedroom, 1 cot); 1 bedroom has an adjoining en-suite shower room, ideal for a family or a group of friends looking for a countryside break. The family bathroom offers an elegant freestanding bath and a hand-held shower. Take a relaxing soak in the tub with a good book from the selection provided in the sitting room. Outside has a large lawned garden, with panoramic views across the countryside and the Carneddau Mountains. There is outside table, seating for six and a barbecue. Ideally situated for driving to the nearby walled town of Conwy, and its famous castle. Conwy is a World Heritage Site that also offers many shops, pubs, restaurants and local cafés, as well as historical sites and buildings to explore. Y Granar is less than nine miles from the RSPB Nature Reserve Conwy (with outdoor adventure playground) which stretches out across the estuary. You can stroll along a boardwalk, through a reed-bed, to the sounds of reed warblers in summer and water rails in winter; starlings mass here on winter evenings before roosting in the reeds. Then look across two lagoons, one with shallow water and the other much deeper, which attract waders and waterbirds, especially from August to March. Y Granar is the ultimate holiday destination for a group of friends or family.
Eglwysbach is a village in Conwy, Wales. The village hosts an annual agricultural and horticultural show in August, displaying a range of local animals, including cattle, sheep and horses. With a village pub, store and church in the area. Situated nearby is the famous Bodnant Garden, which is a National Trust property.
