About this property

Ewenny Cottage rests in a tranquil cul-de-sac in the coastal village of Ewenny, famous for the oldest pottery in Wales. It is a delightful family holiday home with a large, enclosed garden and patio for alfresco dining. As you enter the front door, there is a twin bedroom, a bathroom and a spacious sitting room with an open fire for relaxing nights in. Large patio doors lead through to the garden with a beautiful alfresco area for warm summer evenings. The sunny dining room leads to a galley kitchen which overlooks the garden . Upstairs there is a bedroom with a king-size bed and a single bed next door to a pretty children’s room with a bunk bed and an extra mattress if needed. A bathroom/shower room completes the picture. For over 50 years the owners of this cottage have enjoyed family holidays to Ewenny so it holds a very special place in their hearts and they would love to share this very magical part of the world with you.

Ewenny is just two miles from Ogmore-by-Sea beach (dog friendly) and Southerndown beach and local pubs, restaurants, coffee shops and shops are all within easy reach by car, foot or bicycle. With Cardiff, Penarth and Cowbridge, the famous market town, to the east and Porthcawl, Swansea and The Mumbles (the Gateway to The Gower) to the west, there is a wealth of attractions for all the family to enjoy. Ewenny is the perfect destination for rambling, cycling, horse-riding on the beach, surfing (Rest Bay Watersports Centre is 5 miles away) and golfing with Celtic Manor and the Principality Stadium less than an hour away.

It clean other than that we had to change the battery in the remote for the tv and we had a problem with the carbon monoxide monitor it started to go off on Friday morning and we found it on the floor at the back of the washing machine. We had everything we needed and we had a great time thank you.

Kitchen is very well equipped but just to warn you fridge is down a step in room next door. Used washing machine and tumble dryer which was a big bonus. Could have hung out on line but no pegs so that would be very useful. Our king size bed was extremely comfortable but our friends had twin beds and they felt they needed toppers to make more comfortable. The weather was warm and so spent some time in the garden. The grass was extremely long and wet underfoot so dogs got wet and clearing up was harder! Small issues but we still loved our week at Ewenny. It’s so close to beautiful beeches and places to visit. We didn’t need to use the fire but it’s all there for you to take advantage of if you want to. The cottage is not ultra modern but it’s a wonderful and welcoming place to stay and would definitely recommend it.

It is clean, warm & comfortable with a safe, secure garden for all size dogs. Handy back gate & utility, good for wiping wet paws. Well equipped kitchen. Easy parking right outside. There is a well stocked shop a short walk away. Ogmore by Sea is a short drive as is Bridgend. Porthcawl is not far. Very easy access from M4 motorway. Will certainly stay again.
