Cerrigydrudion 2.4 miles. Nestled in Cefn-brith near Cerrigydrudion, Conwy, is where you will find this charming shepherd's hut, Cwt Tyddyn. Set within the idyllic Tyddyn Bychan small holding, with private, on-site facilities for guests, the hut is a quirky property for an adventurous couple seeking the great outdoors. Next to the hut is off-road parking on a gravelled driveaway, where you can park up and take in the peaceful countryside surroundings in your enclosed garden space, where Cwt Tyddyn and its neighbouring summer house sit. After a long day hiking up mountain peaks, the hut is a lovely little sanctuary to fall into and relax. The interior features rustic wooden panelling, pretty cottage-like windows and coat hooks; start the woodburning stove, make a hot drink using the kettle, teas and coffee provided, and warm up under the sheets of the double bed. When it's time to eat, head to the private summer house next door, equipped with a hotplate, microwave, fridge and basic amenities to rustle up easy meals. It offers a quaint space to relax outside of the hut, with a plush sofa for two to put your feet up, read a book, or plan the day ahead. Private showering facilities are just 25 metres away from the hut in a traditional, stone walled building, which hosts an entrance space with a basin, as well as a separate shower room for guests' use only: step into the spacious, contemporary walk-in shower and rinse off the day, before settling into the hut for the evening. Enjoy your breakfast and morning coffee on the picnic bench set on the lawn, overlooking fantastic views across the romantic rolling hills of the valley. For getting the essentials, Cerrigydrudion is just a short journey away with a Post Office & shop and Ty Tan Llan Café. Head north west for the much-loved Betws-y-Coed for an abundance of pubs, restaurants, cafés and shops, as well as wonderful attractions; wander through Galeri Betws-y-Coed, see the winding creek of Ffos Anoddun (Fairy Glen) and follow the rocky footpath to Swallow Falls. Bala is a fabulous market town lying south of Cwt Tyddyn, located at the head of Llyn Tegid, Bala’s famous lake. Here you will find a variety of watersporsts to enjoy, including fishing, sailing, canoeing and windsurfing, alongside plenty of history in the town with a range of interesting shops, inns, restaurants and a historical Town Walk. Drive north to see the fantastic coast, where the iconic world heritage site, Conwy boasts an imposing 13th-century castle, the Smallest House in Britain next to a wonderful harbour to stroll along, and Plas Mawr, a magnificent 16th-century town house in the heart of Conwy. Cwt Tyddyn is perfectly located next to these impressive Welsh sites, as well as on the doorstep to breath-taking walks and hikes waiting to be explored in Snowdonia National Park.
Found on the high moorlands in Conwy, Carrigydrudion is perfectly situated between Bala and Betws-y-Coed, the gateway to Snowdonia National Park. The peaceful village offers superb walking, cycling and wildlife watching opportunities in the spectacular surrounding countryside. With a family-run community centre, Carrigydrudion has a lot to offer visitors, including a shop, café and cinema, all on the doorstep to an incredible area of the historic, rural Wales.
