Celyn Farm Cottage is consistently praised for its cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and the warm welcome provided by hosts Nigel and Alice. Guests appreciate the peaceful location, ideal for mountain lovers and those seeking a quiet getaway. The wood burner adds charm, although it's noted that it can lead to cold starts in winter. The cottage's size and proximity to the owner's home are mentioned, with some guests finding it small and lacking privacy, but many see the closeness as a positive. Thoughtful touches like welcome beers and Welsh cakes are fondly noted.
Guests frequently commend the cottage for its cleanliness, describing it as immaculate and tidy. The attention to detail in maintaining a clean environment is evident and contributes positively to the overall experience.
The cottage's location is highly praised for its stunning views and proximity to local amenities and tourist attractions. It serves as an excellent base for exploring Snowdonia and Anglesey, offering a balance of seclusion and accessibility.
The cottage is described as cosy and snug, particularly when the wood burner is lit. However, some guests mention the property can be cold initially in winter and the mezzanine bedroom has a low ceiling, which may affect taller guests.
Facilities are generally well-received, with the cottage being well-equipped for guests' needs. Some guests suggest improvements such as a larger basin in the shower room and additional hanging space, indicating room for enhancement in facilities and maintenance.
Many reviews highlight the hosts' thoughtfulness, mentioning welcome gestures such as fresh flowers, Welsh cakes, and a pre-lit wood burner. While these gifts are greatly appreciated, it's important to note that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed with every stay.
This cosy and pretty stone-built, detached barn conversion is situated next to the owners home, near the small hamlet of Deiniolen, four miles from Llanberis. Surrounded by some wonderful scenic countryside on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park, this delightful cottage offers an ideal base for couples who love the outdoors with walks in abundance. Celyn Farm Cottage has wonderful charm and appeal combined with character attributes, such as whitewashed stone walls and exposed beams. The living accommodation is open plan with the sitting area enjoying a high-pitched ceiling with exposed purlins and timbers extenuating the feeling of space. The warm and welcoming woodburning stove, with a most unusual log basket, provides a relaxing atmosphere in cooler months and is a perfect place to curl up together and watch a favourite film. There is also the useful added benefit of a pulleymaid above the woodburner where you can dry ample amounts of clothing after days out and about. The kitchen is fresh and modern with and a Belfast sink and there is small but functional shower room tucked in just off the kitchen. Upstairs the crog loft provides you with a quirky bedroom with sloping ceilings, restricted head height, low level double bed and a great view over the sitting area. Outside there is a courtyard with seating to take in the wonderful views where you can enjoy your morning cup of coffee. There are superb walks and cycle trails all around, which offer stunning mountain and coastal views, including those that lead to the Marchlyn Mawr Reservoir and the northern slopes of Elidir Fawr. Lanberis is four miles away where you can enjoy the Lake Railway which runs alongside the banks of Llyn Padarn, whilst Llanberis itself has shops, pubs and restaurants, and is the gateway to the stunning Mount Snowdon. This lovely cottage is an ideal base for exploring the Snowdonia National Park and beyond all year round.
Deiniolen is a small hamlet 6 miles from the coastal town of Caernarfon, with its 13th Century castle, town walls and attractive waterfront. This area is a good base for the Welsh Highland Railway, the beaches of Anglesey and the Lleyn Peninsula, not to mention the fantastic landscapes and activities of the Snowdonia National Park.

Everything you need is in the cottage. The log burner even set up and ready to go for you, for those chillier evenings. WiFi available and there's even have Netflix on the TV. Everything is so comfortable and cosy. I will set out my one and only warning though (for those of a taller stature)... The mezzanine bedroom has a very low ceiling (which was to be expected though, so we managed) but the bed was ever so comfortable. I highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking to stay in the area. Loads to do in the local areas, but all tourist attractions and towns within half an hour's drive or less.

A lovely spot. Even the lane to it is picturesque! Great dog too. Friendly owners who made us very welcome. Thanks.

Being situated within the Snowdonia National park but close to Caenarfon, Anglesey and the coast, it's ideal for a couple or a lone holiday-maker looking for a base for an active holiday, walking or cycling. The cottage is clean and well-equipped. I didn't need it this time but I know from my previous visit that the woodburner makes the cottage snug and warm. The owners, Nigel and Alice are friendly and helpful. I'd recommend this property to anyone without hesitation. No doubt, I'll be back soon!
