What our customers say about their holidays

    • Jonathan - Verified booking

A group booking so only speaking from my perspective (although the sentiment is shared).

We had a wonderful stay. It's a cute cottage (I actually learned that Bwthyn is Welsh for cottage) that is perfectly located for those who want some adventures in the mountains but would like a real bed, real showers and real amenities. We were super lucky with the weather (when is North Wales EVER 30°C?) so we didn't require the washing machine or log burner but it's good to know that it's there. The location is nice and remote and provided us with some wonderful stargazing opportunities from the hot tub. The cottage is situated on a working farm so do expect the farmer to be cutting about doing Gods work. Ioan (the farmer/owner) is an absolute diamond bloke. I really enjoyed chatting with him about the area and its history, the history of his family and farming, solar power and other things. The cottage was clean and welcoming, you'll need to bring toilet roll, extra towels (for the hot tub) and a few odds like washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets (although we left a ton there for the next guests) etc. As I said, I really loved the stay and will most likely be booking it for another time of year to get a different experience of North Wales and it's incredible scenery.

We really enjoyed our stay, the owners were friendly, available but not intrusive, our children enjoyed being shown around the farm.

Despite how busy he was, nothing was too much trouble. The cottage was warm and cosy, the beds and sofas were comfy and the hot tub well maintained with powerful jets - what more could you want for a relaxing break?! Although an ideal location for peace and tranquility it is also located within easy driving access to walking routes, a lovely beach, supermarkets and velocity. There are many more things to do listed in the cottage information folder but I can only comment on the above things that we as a young family with a dog did. My only feedback (and this is trivial, hence why we didn’t disturb the owners about it at the time, because it didn’t spoil our stay) is that the cutlery was quite small and childlike plus there was only six of each crockery items which meant the dishwasher being used half loaded or you washing up several times a day in order to have clean plates for lunch time and evening meal. We really wished we’d stayed for more than four nights because we all enjoyed our stay here and would really consider a repeat stay.

      Disappointing!

We was really looking forward to this stay as the cottage looked lovely & it was! No complaints apart from the hot tub…..we had issues with it on all 3 nights of our stay & logged this with the owners on all 3 nights! The jets had an auto cut off after 30mins which is fine but every time we pressed them back on after the initial 30mins they would only stay on for literally 1min at a time! This was very annoying as we couldn’t just lie back & relax! After complaining the 2nd night the owners said they’d send someone round to look at it, they didn’t! Having paid a premium rate for a place with a hot tub & only getting 30mins per night really isn’t good enough! Having complained on our arrival home again about this, we have basically been told that since our departure the hot tub has been checked & no issues found & therefore they will not refund us any money! We have basically been made out to be liars! £400 down the drain! Very frustrating, annoying & disappointing to say the least!!

      2 Rhoslyn is absolutely stunning!

The pictures online barely do it justice! On arrival the cottage was immaculate and the hot tub was ready to be used straight away which was brilliant! We stayed in February and I was really looking forward to lightning the log burner but in fact we didn’t even need it as the heating kept us very cosy! The kitchen was really well equipped and they even had a cupboard full of games for those rainy days (of which we had a few!) The owners seem like really lovely people, I had a query about the recycling to which they replied straight away which was nice to know if you had any issues they are more than happy to help. We didn’t want to leave and are already planning a return trip in the summer, if your unsure about booking then this is your sign to do it - you won’t regret it!! Thanks to Jason and Joanna for creating such a gorgeous home from home!
