Guests say

Fron Oleu is a well-received cottage in North Wales, praised for its stunning views, secure and spacious gardens, and tranquil location. Guests appreciate the well-equipped space, cosy atmosphere, and the warm welcome, including a welcome pack. It's ideal for families and dog owners, with many mentioning plans to rebook. Some minor issues were noted, but the overall sentiment is highly positive.

The cottage is generally described as clean and tidy. One mention of dust on a bathroom unit suggests room for improvement, but this appears to be an isolated comment amidst overall positive feedback on cleanliness.

The location is highly praised for its breathtaking views, tranquillity, and proximity to local attractions like Snowdon and beaches. The remote setting is appreciated for peace and quiet, although access involves narrow roads and gate management.

Guests find the cottage cosy and beds comfortable, with a warm atmosphere enhanced by a wood burner. However, there are comments about low ceilings and uncomfortable mattresses, suggesting that while comfort is generally high, there is some variability.

Facilities are well-regarded, with modern utilities, Wi-Fi, and a smart TV. The presence of games and outdoor amenities adds value. Some maintenance issues like stiff locks and a broken light are noted, indicating that while facilities are good, there is room for maintenance improvements.

The thoughtfulness of the hosts is evident from the welcome pack and unexpected extras like toothbrushes. While these gestures are greatly appreciated, guests should note that such personal touches, though likely, are not guaranteed for every stay.

A few issue…we noticed a camera in the kitchen. An Alex spot device. Not sure if this was being watch but made feel very uncomfortable. Device was unplugged soon as we noticed it. Yes, there was a camera on this device Also, there’s a camera on the outside of the property. I understand the means of having a surveillance camera for security of the property but we felt like this was watching us. The camera was pointing in to the conservatory 70% of the time where we was playing games, and watching tv. We also had an issue with locking the door inside the property. We pulled up the handle and tried to lock the door. Same as any other pvc door. Unfortunately after a few days of locking the door on the inside we broke the key, due to door lock was very stiff. We obviously got a new key for the door, receipt was left in key box. It was about 10 mins drive down to normal roads, the rest is off road/private road very narrow. My tow bar was catching a lot, maybe due to weight in vehicle. 2 gates on property to open and close. Looks like there was meant to be a light in the back garden but had been cut. Unfortunately we couldn’t see if the dogs was safe or got out the gate. The gate did open with the wind on a few occasions. Also no information what to do with the bins. One bin for a family of seven wasn’t the best. Would probably stay again if issue was resolved. Especially the camera issue.

Well equipped and in an amazing location with views all round. The secure back garden is great if you have dogs and the property itself was spotlessly clean. Thank you so much to the owner/staff. If you want a quiet, get away from it all, break then this is the property for you. Our only recommendation is to use the ‘What3words’ function to find it as our Satnav could not hack it! Overall, highly recommended

There are a few Games for inside play and outside fun too. Lovely and clean, everything you need is there. Cliff and Gill are lovely and will help out at the drop of a hat. They even had a new mattress delivered, whilst we were there. We have been there three times now, with no issues what so ever. And definitely will be going again next year.
