Guests say

Driftwood Terrace is a well-liked cottage in Porthmadog, praised for its cleanliness, central location, and cosy atmosphere. Guests appreciate its proximity to local amenities and beaches, making it an ideal base for exploring. While parking can be challenging and the property is compact, the positive aspects seem to outweigh these concerns for most visitors.

The property generally receives positive remarks for cleanliness, with several guests finding it very clean. However, a few reviews mention issues such as a smell of wet dog and a need for a deeper clean, slightly lowering the score.

The location is highly praised for being central and convenient for accessing local shops, public transport, and attractions like Black Rock Sands beach. The difficulty with parking is noted, but does not significantly detract from the overall positive perception of the location.

Guests find the beds comfortable and the property warm and welcoming. Some concerns are raised about the size of the property and the security of the double bed, which affects the comfort score.

The cottage is well-equipped according to several guests, but there are comments about the lack of storage, the complexity of the TV setup, and minor maintenance issues like a loose tap and wobbly toilet seat. These factors lead to a moderate score.

Guests mention thoughtful touches such as milk and Welsh cakes on arrival, dog blankets, and board games. While these gifts are appreciated, it is politely noted that such extras are subject to availability and not guaranteed.

Clean and comfortable as it was last year. My only complaint is that I could not use the tv. I could not get it to open up on anything, and I only use proper tv i.e. BBC and ITV normal programmes, including the news which were not available. So, for instance, I did not get the news that someone had tried to attack Trump again. I might have cheered again if I had known!

We left the car there for the week, not sure we would have got another spot otherwise. Not a huge amount going on in Porthmadog but it’s a lovely little town with some nice walks off it. We didn’t cook at all while were there but there’s a good Thai takeaway just round the corner, kebab/pizza shop round the next corner and there’s a nice pub right by the house as well, the red lion. We had a great stay even though the weather was a bit rubbish
