Guests say

Gwelfor in Newport is a well-received holiday cottage, praised for its spaciousness, stylish decor, and prime location close to the beach and local amenities. Guests have enjoyed the property's suitability for large family gatherings and its proximity to friendly pubs and shops. The picturesque setting and comfortable furnishings contribute to a memorable stay, with many expressing a desire to return.

Most guests found Gwelfor clean and comfortable. However, a few mentioned issues such as unwashed cutlery and cobwebs, suggesting room for improvement in cleanliness standards. These seem to be isolated incidents rather than the norm.

The location is highly praised for its convenience, being a short walk from both the town and the beach. The local area is appreciated for its friendly atmosphere and good food options.

The majority of guests found the house extremely comfortable and suitable for multi-age family groups, with ample space and privacy. The cosy yet spacious environment was particularly appreciated during inclement weather.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and good socialising spaces. Some minor maintenance issues were noted, such as wobbly dining chairs and tricky locks. Recycling was also a point of confusion for some guests.

While guests have not specifically mentioned gifts, there is a suggestion that a welcome pack would have been appreciated. As there is no direct reference to gifts being provided or expected, it is not possible to score this category.

It was perfect for an extended-family holiday. The only problem was the back gate lock wouldn’t turn, meaning we couldn’t access the house on the first day without climbing over the back gate (lucky my 70 year old hub still feels like an athlete

The weather was atrocious so the house was perfect to escape wind and rain, being comfortable, cosy yet spacious and very well equipped for our party of 6 adults and 3 children.
